What a great day!:thumbsup2 We met at the park at 2pm.Mom used her print out of her birthday :bday: certificate at the ticket booth, and was given a birthday pin and wished "Happy Birthday!" We had PS at Cafe Orleans at 3pm. We had a nice outside table towards the back, towards the French Market. I had ordered her a Princess Cake $15.99 on the Dining Line. But I reminded the hostess , and she thanked me, because it wasn't on her list. So, if you make PS with a surprise Princess cakeprincess: :cake: , just remind them to be safe. Mom was in the ladies room at the time so I was able to be sly.
At lunch, I had the Rattatoulle , as usual. To start I had the French Onion Soup.
And a cup of coffee. Mom had the French Onion Soup also, and the Salmon Salad. Both were delish! Then after our meal, the waitress appeared with the birthday cake and a candle:cake: , lit it and we sang her "Happy Birthday":bday: . Mom was really touched. We had ridden the HM twice:hmghost: ,watched Billy Hill and the Hillbillies:charac2: , the :ccat: Tea Cups TWICE! Mom loves the tea cups, the jungle :boat: cruise, Poohs ride, watched Disneys:tinker: :donald: first 50 years. By the way, the last showing is on the 15th today! Mr. Lincoln will be back in the Fall. woo hoo! A few very special things happened. We went to the train and asked if we could ride the Lillie Belle. and we did! The cast member :worship: Brian, ( so sweet!) also gave us each a Lillie Belle souvineer Ticket. I was telling Brian , during our trip around the Magic Kingdom that Mom had never seen:smickey: Fantasmic!, so he made a call and low and behold! Brian had gotten us practically front row seats to the show. (not the ones that serve coffee and dessert but it was just as great!) Mom loved the show and by the end was clapping and applauding for :mickeyjum Mickey! I did email:surfweb: Disneyland.com last night at 2 am!to commend:thumbsup2 Brian.
The lines were very little everywhere. We ended the night with riding IASW.
We had a great time:cheer2: . Sorry I don't have pictures of the cake. But it is the same one that is on the Disneyland web site. Disney really goes out of their way to make sure that everyone has a great celebration:dance3: . I think the What will you Celebrate campaign is a success.
We left the park at around 11:30 pm. Good times! And just as an aside, my Mom wore her pedometer in the park and from 2pm to 11:30 pm we walked 8!!! Miles!!! :scared1: So, if you are there all day and at the end of your day wonder why your feet hurt? .....:lmao: :teacher:
I can't wait to go back! :cloud9: :wizard:

Sounds like a fantastic day for you and mom! I guess the Big Thunder BBQ place isn't open until April - is that correct? I know you are looking forward to that! At first, when I initially just skimmed over your post before reading it in depth, I saw the name 'Brian' mentioned a few times and I was thinking, "Who the heck is Brian? What happened to Kyle? Have I been referring to her fiance as Kyle when he was really Brian?":lmao: :lmao: Anyway, I read the whole post all the way through and cleared up the Brian mystery!

Are there other cakes besides the Princess cake? And is it a good cake, or does the cake taste like 2-week old petrified sugar? I was not sure at first if I wanted to deal with DLR on my birthday because my birthday is in the middle of summer and I get really sick in the heat. Spending a whole day at DLR in July is not for me anymore. In December, yes. July, no! Plus, my birthday is also on a weekday, which is not convenient for friends to get off of work. But then I started thinking more about it and that gift card is awfully tempting!! Being the Disneyland merchandise FREAK that I have always been, I don't see how I could pass up a $69 gift card. I would be out of my mind. So even if I just go there ALONE on my b-day, I think I will have to go solely to get the gift card!! If, by some miracle, I have anyone with me on that day, I think we can do a Goofy's meal (heck, I might even order my own cake for myself!), take some PhotoPass pictures, hit a few of our favorite rides, shop (so I can use my gift card), and then go home. We can save the bigger trips for Halloweentime and especially, Christmastime. But how could I pass up the gift card? If you were to look around my apartment right now and see all of the Disneyland merchandise I accumulated just during the '80s and '90s alone, you would wonder how I could even conceive of not going to get the gift card!! Besides, there is no guarantees that Disney will continue this Celebration promotion into 2010, so I had better take advantage of their generosity while I can!!

Sounds like you had a :wizard: day! :goodvibes Isn't it great when everything goes so well? :cloud9: I didn't realize the 50 years was closing today. Should have done it one more time on Friday. Oh well, at least I got some PP taken of DD and I in front of the Walt and Mickey picture mosaic at the front in Jan. I liked Mr. Lincoln so I'm glad he's returning. :goodvibes

:bday: belated to your DM!

Glad you two had such a great day and the pixie dust was flowing...

And congrats on your wedding plans, I am sure it will be magical.:)

That sounds like such a fun trip! Sounds like they really went out of their way to give your mom a special birthday. :) Thanks for letting me live vicariously through your trip!
