We attended last night, Sunday August 27 at IOA. We arrived at 7:30 for the 8 pm opening and found a thick crowd forming three long lines, two across the bridge and one going towards the chocolate emporium. We initially thought we were close to the turnstiles and the line seemed to be moving. UO staff started herding guests from the lines to form a mass of people, "fill in all available space", in front of the turnstiles. No lines just lots of close bodies. As the crush grew and the lines leading out from it grew, we decided to avoid the madness and come back after the opening madness.

We bailed and went to the studios side and enjoyed an hour of short wait coasters. We rode Rip Ride Rocket and Mummy twice each and were back to IOA at about 9pm.

Our second attempt to enter was a walk through and the park was wide open! Minimal waits with the longer lines being Hulk, Spider-Man, Kong. DS rode Forbidden Journey 4 times in a row! I was honestly beat since it was a long day heavy on rides. I won't get motion sick with one ride every 45 minutes or so, but the low crowds during the day plus Passholder night was too much for me. DS was in heaven

The event was awesome and once everyone got into the park, very low crowd density. I don't know what was going on at opening but it was worse than rope drop on a 9 or 10 day.
