Mini IOA Trip Report 5/6/03

My DH and I were both off for a rare weekday as opposed to a weekend. We decided to head to IOA for a few hours. It was a good decision on our part as the park was a bit slow. We arrived at the gates about 12:45. We were parked in JP 5th floor(roof). We hoofed it to the gates, making a quick stop at the Universal store to get my DH some new sunglasses(he sat on the last pair). One thing for sure...IT WAS HOT!! very little breeze and temps in the 90's. My DH burns easy and was lathered up with SPF50. After a quick bag check, and a quick survey, we got a locker. Then it was off to Hulk. Wait time posted was 15 mins. We head over to Express Pass, and get one. Time to ride: 1:25. Current time..1:23..WooHoo..we get a nice back seat ride on the Hulk. One cool thing, I was wearing an hip pack and because I had my glasses in there and didnt want them to get mushed, i had put the pack in between the harness opening. Well as we were departing, it must have tripped a sensor as they stopped us and made me move it..WOW..LOL...So we get off Hulk and continue through Marvel Island. Spiderman posted 20 min wait. Dr Doom 15. We pass. We continue through Toon Lagoon. We have our bathing suits on, but decide to do the water rides later. So we press on through JP. Once again we pass on the ride. We get over to Lost Continent and Dueling Dragons is posted as 20 mins. Express time 1:45. Current time 1:43. Got to love our luck with that. We duck into the Enchnated Oak first and grab a soda. Did I mention it was hot out? Then its on to Dueling Dragons. A small rant here, what with the Express line here? They expect you to merge in with the people currently in line, and the line is still long. While Hulk had 3 cars running today, Dragons had one each. This caused there to be a jam up at the end of the line. There is no reason for this kind of delay. This also caused tensions to run high and we almost observed a fist fight. This was bad for the Dragons IMHO. We ride Fire, second row. After a great ride, we press on, stopping to watch the fountain for a bit. Not as good as the high pitched voice one, but fun nonetheless. We continue on to Posidion. We had not seen it in a long time, show was starting soon, so we stop. What a waste of time. I like the water room, but thats it. I want my 20 mins back..LOL..We stop at Circus Mcgurkis and get some fries and a soda, Boy its HOT!! Its now past 3pm. My Dh does not want to be out late, as we both have to work the next day, so we decide to ride Dudley and then head for home. We have ashort wait about 5 mins posted as 20, and enjoy the ride. I believe they may have resone the logs as they look different than the last time we rode. Of course when I wear a bathing suit, i dont get that wet..LOL. we head out to the car after stopping to get the stuff from the locker. We debated a few mins about going to US, but it was just too hot. We headed for the car and stopped at the Exxon on WDW property and then drove home to Lakeland. We were home by 6pm.

There were a lot of school groups there...lots of screaming middle schoolers..LOL

A great Day. We are going to adventure Island in Tampa next Wedsnesday, will give the full report then.
