Mini golf - how busy?

i know the parks will close early due to numbers but how busy are the mini golf in the morning those days?

are they wall to wall too or do most people try to get into the park and only play golf if the parks are closed?

We played at WinterSummerland on Thanksgiving Day one year. It wasn't too bad at all, we got there about 2:00 or so and waited maybe 20 minutes to start.

We tried to play during spring break last year and got shut out
They were only taking people that had tee times we would have had to come back at like 5pm to play that day

Morning will be fine. May want to call ahead though. It starts to fill up around 12-1pm.

How are the evenings? Is one course more crowded than the other?

I had no clue that you even could call ahead to reserve, let alone that it's recommended! I always figured the mini-golf to be somewhat empty...

So if I want to go around 9pm on an August evening, do I need to call ahead or can it be a spur of the moment thing? If I need to call ahead, when do I call? The day before, that morning, that afternoon?

We've never had more than a 15-20 min wait at Fantasia Gardens...but I've never gone to the mini golf at a peak season.

My one attempt at Mini Golf (Fantasia Gardens) was an afternoon in Sept and it was HOT!!! There was not much in the way of shade to hide under and I just felt like an egg in a pan.

I would go late or when the sun is low in the sky!

How crowded will it be the first week of May? How much does it cost to play? Is it better to go during the day or night?

anyone know where you call for ressies for this? I can't seem to find that info on Disney's website anywhere.

If they take reservations (never heard that they did), you could call 407 WDW-PLAY.
