Mini Cake Stand

I am still on the fence about using the mad hatter cake or mini cakes for our wedding, while speaking to Ken Weaver today he told me about the mini cake stand & emailed me the pic. I haven't seen anyone talk about it here so I thought I would share.

So cute!! I wondered how they did that... what do the bride and groom cut to feed each other? hmmm.... I've heard varying pricing on the mini cakes vs. the regular wedding cake... if you don't mind me asking, how much are your mini cakes costing? for how many? We are anticipating 60-75 people... Thanks so much for sharing the pic!

The mini cakes are $17-$20 with tax & gratuity figure about $ 25 per cake x amount of people. One cake per person. The mad hatter cake runs $980.

I am told this particular mini cake stand is no longer being used as pictured. The colorful draping breaks off of the sharp edges of the stand. They are now using a cake stand that has 2 1/2" solid sides in each tier to better adhere the drapes to. There are actually a few different stand styles to choose from.

KT27, thank you for posting that photo. I hadn't seen that before. I had only seen photos where the mini-cakes were sitting side-by-side on a cake table.

For my vow renewal last year, the "Wizard of Oz" area of the Great Movie Ride was where our dessert was served. When my guests walked into the venue, the mini-cakes had already been placed at everyone's place setting. It was very festive and my guests loved having their own mini-cake: click here for photo.

On my vow renewal's final bill last year, the mini-wedding cakes’ cost breakdown was as follows:

Mini-Wedding Cakes charge was $625 ($25 per cake x 25 guests = $625)
Sales Tax charge for Mini-Cakes was $40.63
Gratuity charge was $173.75
Sales Tax charge for Gratuity was $11.29

When all was said and done, the cost for 25 miniature wedding cakes came to $850.67.

check with your EM, as Disney has relaxed the 50 person minimum on custom wedding cakes.

I dont actually have an EM yet but i'll ask her when i get one assigned to me. When do you actually get a EM assigned?

KT27 - if you have a good amount of people, and its an option, I would go for the Mad Hatter Cake. I've ALWAYS wanted that cake, even before my DF , but I don't think I will have enough people to justify it.

I am having my girlfriend try to replicate one (a smaller version, of course) for my "Mad Hatter Engagement Party" next weekend, 12/17. . . with "Eat ME" cookies n'all!!
