My prayers are with Joan and her family. I know it is such a hard time. I have mixed emotions about Christmas too. I am excited to see the boys and enjoy time with family, but there is sadness too. I took flowers to my brother's grave this last weekend. Many tears were shed. It seems so unfair that he will not be here. I still almost add him to my Christmas list. As you know, my father looks worse all the time. I know from being a doctor that death is nearing for him. It is sad, but I am trying to focus on spending as much time with him as possible. I did not get to tell my brother I loved him before he died. I am not making the same mistake with my Dad.
Hang in there everyone and remember the good things about Christmas. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.

Cara, I know exactly how you feel. It physically hurt to realize I could not write my mom's name on a Christmas card or on the gift list this year. Big hugs to you.

I think my elf this year backfired. The boys have not been extremely excited about Santa this year. I keep asking them why and I think that they are going to miss Harry the elf. Cooper keeps saying he wish Harry did not have to go and he wanted to wrap Harry a present this morning. I hope they do not hold it against Santa too much.

Chelsea and Connor were like that the first year with our elves. Maybe you could tell the boys Harry will write during the year. Mine always get a kick out getting letters/emails from Haddon and Ingrid.

Poor Harry! Maybe he can have a place of honor throughout the year instead of being stuffed away in a box somewhere. Maybe he can stay visible with the understanding that he only works his magic after Thanksgiving every year or however you did it.

Have a lovely Dis meet at lunch today. You must be getting really excited about your upcoming trip, although i understand that your mind will still be on your Aunt Joan and her family. I truly hope she manages to spend some good quality time with her loved ones, and any pain she experiences is controllable. Have a safe journey to Jills in the morning.

It was good to see the girls and their sweet boys. We ended up at Chick-Fil-A. The boys weren't way into eating, but they did each eat a little. Will showed off his ABC reciting with the help of his mommy, and Seth was interested in my car keys. I am so glad I got to see them together for the first time.

Another first for you, Jackie, and we do think of what you are coping with. I know there is a big hole in your heart, but I also know you'll do what you need to do to make things as happy as you can for your family. Did you get to do something nice for someone in your mom's honor? That would be a nice way to write her name - only to someone - and keep her a part of things.

I just took a couple, and they were pretty much the same thing as Erica and Dawn have on Facebook. We just pushed their chairs together at the end of the meal and each took a couple of pictures. Will cheesed it up right away. I kept getting Seth in between smiles.

As Jill has told you earlier, while the girls and I were hanging out in the comfort of Yacht Club, she and John were getting soaking wet. When they got back to us, they changed into dry clothes before we got in the car to really truly drive off of Disney property.

I was in the very back seat, so I could not get good going away pictures. You can see that dreaded exit a little bit through the front window.

And there it goes.

I am telling you, it takes no time after leaving Disney property before you are very, very aware that you are back in the real world. The colors disappear. It is noticeably quiet. There is no smell of chocolate chip cookies and popcorn. All of the things that Disney provides to give us sensory overload while we are there vanish very quickly.

We knew we were coming back, though, and that does make it easier to leave. As it turned out, Brooklynn and I got that special October trip. I have spent the evening packing. Jill is probably packing as I write to be prepared to leave again on Sunday. After this, it will be June until we get back, so I will take a ton of pictures to last us a few months.

We will leave this open for conversation and picture updates while we are there. I will send some phone pictures to some girls that I know can put them on here, and Jill will be putting up FB pictures, so hopefully we can bring you a little Disney during your week.

Thanks for joining us on the summer adventure. It looks like our winter adventure is going to have very nice weather. We are very happy about that!

We will check in tomorrow and then one last time on Christmas morning before we fly out. Have a most magical, wonderful Christmas, DIStown!

Looks like our trips are almost here! I know packing must be done, I have mine started, Baylor packed himself. I think I need to check those bags.
Marc hasn't packed a bit.

We are still working on two sets of shirts.
Shirts for a group of 15 takes a while.
We waited until the last minute.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and kidnapping your boys for the last few nights. I know we will have some good times visiting with Trent and getting to know Jarvis!

Okay, I have a question. How bad are crowds during spring break??? We haven't completely given up on January yet, but now we think our back up will be spring break. I don't think I could make it until May, and we already have our Vermont trip in August and it would be better if our vacations were farther apart. My break is March 12-16. I don't have Friday classes so we'd probably leave on the 9th and come back on the 15th

Tomorrow I'll be busy helping my mom get ready for Sunday. We're checking my grandma out for the day and everyone's coming here for dinner. I can't wait to see Kazin and Caleb! I've seen them both this week but I love seeing them together If I don't make it back here before Sunday, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a very magical trip

Everybody has been busy all the way since back in August when school started back, it seems. We're just glad to visit with our DIS friends whenever you do get a chance to be here.

Hollie, we hope you and Hannah have a very fun Christmas weekend. Santa is very busy today getting everything ready to come and see you girls. Brooklynn and Bella are excited about what he will leave them. You will have to show us some pictures of you with some of your favorite gifts. We will see you in Atlanta for a DIS meet again sometime, and maybe you can come to Nashville one of these days.

I finally got serious about packing yesterday.

The guys are very appreciative of the space. I told Trent he could take an air mattress, but he said he'd be fine on the floor. Maybe he and Jarvis can alternate floor and sofa bed, if he wants to. They are just very, very happy tp be saving the money. Pop rooms are not cheap during the holiday! They were about $180 a night with tax, and that is nothing to sneeze at. We're used to them being around half that! What I am paying for the rooms for as long as we're staying is really killing me this time. We will have fun, though, so I am sucking it up and doing it.

You will like Jarvis. He is a very nice young man.

I love spring trips! I dread, dread, dread January and February here in Tennessee. I know it's not nearly as cold and snowy as it is up north, but I do not do well in the cold even here. Our winters are cold enough for me. The days seem long and the world around us is gray. When I get off the plane at MCO in March and feel the warm temperatures and see the palm trees, life just floods into me again! At the Flower and Garden Festival, colors abound in the beautiful flowers. It is so pretty!

Just play things right, and you will do fine. Rope drops will get you on anything you want quickly.

Thank you both! Last night I discovered that our pin code is for Jan through March so we'd still be able to stay at WL. It expires on Dec 31, so I think either way we'll be at AAA booking a trip on Friday. This is the first year of my life that my spring break hasn't been in April! But with the way they do it in New England(except for colleges), we have February breaks too. I looove my long winter break now but I'll miss my Feb Disney trips! Our spring breaks are always in March - right around the 2nd or 3rd week. Last year it was about the 12th or so. The parks were very crowded, but we loved the time - flower and garden at Epcot was great! The weather was perfect. If you know how to manage rope drop and FPs, and make any ADRs, you'll be fine.
