I got a little bit behind over here. Things just haven't settled down yet for me after the holiday rush. I just got caught up though and wanted to tell you again that I'm praying for you and your family. I know it's hard that you have less time than you had expected. I hope the Lord will give you that peace that surpasses all understanding in the weeks to come.

Things just haven't settled down yet for me after the holiday rush.

I think we all feel this way! Jill was going to spend a big part of her day washing clothes and taking down the Christmas tree. I spent the early morning making this house look like a home again and not like a great big mudroom. I have the den, the kitchen, and the bathroom looking normal. I will tackle my room and the back room (an extra room with all our Disney stuff, the girls' toys, etc.) soon.

Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. The Hospice worker said yesterday it should be less than three days now. Dawn said things are pretty much the same except that her breathing is rattled. I am hoping to go up there later this afternoon or tomorrow.

Jason says he thinks he can have my computer fixed this weekend, but if not, I guess I'll be getting a new one, and then we can get on with the newest trip and pictures.

I think we all feel this way! Jill was going to spend a big part of her day washing clothes and taking down the Christmas tree. I have been doing that too. Doing some work outside while it is nice and some of hte inside can wait until it is dark or too cold to be outside.

My computer has been revived! I am pretty happy about that. Jason and his family are going to WDW in March, and knowing he would refuse to take money, I got them a Disney gift card as payment for fixing it. I ended up meeting his wife, April, to pick it up in the Target parking lot as she was going to a baby shower. She said they are staying at All Star Movies, and they are so excited.

So now I can get back to normal responses. Thanks, all, for being so patient.

Only the white smoke wasn't smoke at all; it was blanket fuzz. I told Jill about it, and she said John is always telling her not to put it on a soft surface, so I guess there are reasons for that. Anyway, it is back for now, and yes, it is pretty new, so I hope I can be nicer to it in the future so that it will last a long time.

Funny you should say that. I had a laptop that was acting up and I put it in the car to take to the Geek squad and of course when I got there it was fine. I concluded the cold car had somehow "reset" it.

I have mine sitting on top of a cooling fan and then on a laptop desk that is basically a hard piece so it is not directly on the bed and I have not had any problems since.

Blanket fuzz clogging your cooling fan is not good. Glad all is fixed now.

Better late than never! I wasn't on the TR forums for a while because it made the long wait until the trip easier, but now that I have an AP, the waits between trips will be a lot less.
Glad to hear you had a great time on the trip and that you got your laptop working again. So sorry to hear about Joann. I will be keeping her and her loved ones in my thoughts. Hugs!

I am still praying for Joan and family. I know how it is and reading your posts brings back many memories of my dear Grammy. I do wish she could have known Alexia but I know one day she will meet her in heaven. I am glad you got your computer back and it is all fixed. I didn't know about not keeping it on soft surfaces as I do that all the time to mine, I guess I should stop now so mine doesn't crash on me.

I am going to say it is temporarily fixed. It's got a bit of a delay, and the screen flashes now and then. It may be just giving me a little more time before it fizzles completely, but at least I have learned a lesson for my next one.

Dawn called at 10:36 last night. Joan went on to her new adventures at 10:30. I did not call to wake Jill up and tell her, because she needs all the rest she can get on her weekends. I wanted to be sure she knew this morning before I said anything here, of course.

Joan was a very special lady. She took me in as a third daughter and showed me a family life like I had only dreamed of. When I met her family at church (I was 16), all the lights went on. This was the family life I wanted for my own future family - playing and laughing together! She was the single most influential woman in my life. She encouraged me through some tough times. She and Ray helped us financially through some lean years, and they never asked anything in return. We are all blessed to have had her in our lives. I am enjoying reading the good comments about her from others on FB this morning, and Dawn and Kellye will find comfort in them when they see them, as well.

Thank you all for your kindnesses. I will be sure to tell Dawn and Kellye that our sweet Disney friends are thinking of them.


CP, I feel like I have been out of touch since before Christmas between the trip, the laptop troubles, school starting back, and this with Joan.

Our January hasn't been bad so far. Hope we will keep it up and have a warm winter. It will make things much nicer - especially the heating bill!
