Mine Train @ Rope Drop

We are heading to MK on Jan. 3 for one day only. We were not able to get a FP for 7DMT. Is rope drop our best bet as far as getting on with as short a wait as possible? If so, is the bridge that takes you around the teacups open at rope drop or is it blocked off by castmembers? I have read conflicting reports on the best path to the ride. Thanks!

1. It can be. (So is getting in line during the last half-hour of the day.)
2. Yes.
3. Nope. Not after the top of the hour.
4. That's the preferred path.
