Which do you prefer? I'll be at the Fairfield Inn on South Harbor and then transferring over to the DLH.
I've looked at the menus for both and they seem to have some pretty good offerings.

my vote is for mimi's cafe we have one colorado springs so we are familier with it and I like the food and service better

Mimi's for sure! Great food, great portions, great service, and decent pricing.

I didn't vote because I like them both! They are right next to each other and really two different types of restaurants. I would try them both!:thumbsup2
Millie's has more of a coffee shop feeling. We have had some great meals there - love their quesidilla (sp?) burger! Usually don't have to wait as long for a table either.
Mimi's has more "homestyle" cooking. Traditional turkey dinners, pot roast, meatloaf. I enjoy their pot roast. Don't really like their burgers. We have a Mimi's here in town that we eat at occasionally.

Looks like Mimi's is the overall winner. Thank you for your help!

I agree with the PP who said try them both. Millie's is more homestyle cooking and it's very good. Mimi's is more chain cooking but it's very good as well. We love Mimi's and eat there at home often, they have the BEST fresh breads/muffins.....YUM!!!!!

Mimi's gets my vote hands down. I love to eat at the Mimi's in our area, and I wasn't dissapointed at the one on Harbor. But honestly, I've never eaten at Millies so I really can't compare the two.

I'd like to try Millie's next time. We eat often at Mimi's because there's one just down the road and we like to try to eat at places not available to us while on vacation.

Interestingly (maybe) the first Mimi's Cafe is in Anaheim, although they're all over now. FWIW, it's on Euclid Ave near the 91 Freeway. No need to trek up there though with a newer cafe right next to DL.

I haven't tried Millies...we loved Mimi's (don't have one anywhere near us...Canada).

I loved their breakfasts (wasn't that much more expensive than McDonalds)!!

Mimi's has an online club. Right now they are sending free breakfast certificates when you register. So, if you plan to eat breakfast at Mimi's at least once during your stay, go online a week or two before you leave (no earlier!) and register, and one person in your party can eat for free!

We have Mimis in Tucson, menus are the same as the one in Anaheim. Great food. And its such a nice place inside too. Its one of my fav resturants here

G-R-E-A-T tip! We'll definitely do this! :thumbsup2

I just tested Mimi's E-Club using my mom's info to see the breakfast coupon and lntsmom is right, do this a week or so before the trip. I got a coupon right away but it expires in 15 days, on 4/21/2009.

Some terms of interest:
  • Valid at participating locations
  • Not valid with any other offers or on holidays
  • Free entree value not to exceed $10
  • One per person
Thanks again! :)

Thanks for the coupon idea, a free breakfast sounds like a great deal. I think that I'll plan on eating breakfast at Mimi's after checking out of the Fairfield Inn, before I check in at the DLH. The breakfast menu looks yummy

I agree with everyone who said they liked them both. They are both different. Millies is more homestyle/diner-ish and Mimis is more chain style - but very good and very long lines. Millies is cheaper IIRC but Mimis has huge portions that can be split. Both are good!

Millies is fine, its about like a Denny's. Mimi's on the other hand is really more of a restaurant vs a diner. It has a nice atmosphere and a varied menu with large portions and a bakery. I love to get the quiche at Mimi's. But Millies has good homestyle diner type food and certainly isn't a bad place to eat, I just think Mimi's has more to offer.

Both.

Mimi's had a good veggie burger and were helpful with my son, who is vegetarian (we all are) and has issues with certain ingredients. But cheap, we did NOT find it to be. Of course if we'd gone with our instincts and shared the veggie burger between hubby and me, it would have been better.

Millie's, however, was so cheap for what we had! We had take-out one late night when DS wasn't hungry until JUST after restaurants started closing at DL and we were leaving the parks anyway. One order of mac and cheese, one salad, one order of garlic bread = something like 11 with tip? Was still hot when we got back to hojo, filled up a ravenous 4 year old and two "eh, I could eat" adults. DEEEEELICIOUS, as well.

So Millie's has my "what we had was better and cheaper" vote, but since we haven't had the same thing at both places, I can't really compare, so I say BOTH!
