Is there any show planned in the near future to replace WWTBAM show?

I think I heard that a new "Finding Nemo" type attraction was going in there (I'm not talking about the new one in AK).
Perhaps someone will tell me I'm wrong?

Its going to be a "dark ride" with a Monster's Inc. theme.

Lots of special effects overlaid on a "shooting gallery" from moving cars ala Buzz Lightyear.

The two new Nemo attracions are:

1) "Finding Nemo, the Musical," a brand new stage show at AK in a new theater built between Dinorama and EE.

2) Nemo "Clam Mobiles" in the Seas Pavilion in Epcot's FW.

Both are opening soon.

The new attraction at MGM is a long way from opening.

Okay...

the Nemo ride is being placed in the Living Seas in Epcot and will be opening shortly (DVC and Passholder previews in a couple of weeks)

the Nemo SHOW is where Tarzan Rocks used to be in AK and will be opening sometime around mid-to-late November

The Monster's Inc. attraction "The Laugh Floor" will be at MK and will be replacing the Timekeeper in Tomorrowland...it will feature some kind of interactive improv show featuring the Monsters (and utilizing the same technology that Turtle Talk With Crush does...I've also heard that they started auditions for CM voice actors amongst the CMs at Adventurer's Club and the Comedy Warehouse first, so there may be some familiar faces behind the voices that make us laugh!).

The replacement for Millionaire (and eventually "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" which is also rumoured to close since "Little Mermaid" is going to Broadway soon) is "Midway Madness" and should be a combination of the Buzz Lightyear ride (with the shooting gallery aspect) and the Spider-Man ride at Universal Island of Adventure (with the 3-D glasses effect that we see the non-Buzz related Toy Story characters guiding us through the ride and the different games that we'll play throughout).

That rumor is ridiculous on its face.
(BTW, I know its not YOUR rumor, I know you're just QUOTING it.)

There is still a B&B Stage show at MGM and B&B has been around on Broadway and in Road Shows for years.

And there's the little matter of Lion King.
Same thing... shows going gang-busters at DAK and on B'way at the same time.

VotLM at MGM is so unlike what that B'way show will be, the two would not even be comparable.

Anything can close at WDW, any time, for any reason, but THAT rumor for THAT reason is just too illogical to be believed.

Actually, I had heard the incoming ride "Midway Madness" is based on Toy Storys 1&2 and that it will use top technology like Spiderman at the other place.

For the record, I read it on Jim Hill's page (I know he's sometimes considered dubious, but a lot of the time he's correct about stuff like this):

the link is: http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/archive/2006/05/16/2407.aspx

"MouseWatch: The Battle of Midway (Madness)"

On that page you'll read the following:

the MGM version of "Midway Madness" ... One of the main reasons that this new dark ride is being built on Mickey Avenue is that -- sometime in 2007 -- Mickey Avenue's other big attraction, the "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" stage show, will be closing.

Why For? Well, to be honest, for much the same reason that the "Tarzan Rocks!" stage show had to close at Disney's Animal Kingdom back in January. Because Disney Theatrical was prepping the Broadway version of "Tarzan" and they didn't want any authorized Disney "Tarzan"-themed productions out there that their new musical could be compared to.

Sooo ... Given that Disney Theatrical's version of "The Little Mermaid" is reportedly due to arrive on Broadway during the 2007 - 2008 season ... That's why MGM's "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" has to close sometime in 2007.

And given that Disney-MGM could actually use a new attraction that would help drive guests into the backmost portion of this theme park ... Well, that's why (in addition to that construction cost savings) it does make sense to install "Midway Madness" in Soundstages 2 & 3.

---
Just so you know I wasn't completely pulling the idea out of thin air...

According to the Unofficial Guide, it's a combo of these two. Quoting directly from UG...

Reege has left the building
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire - Play It! had its last "fastest finger" contest in August 2006. Once all the sets from this faux ABC game show are pulled down, the rumor is tht these two MGM soundstages will be turned into the Studios' first dark ride, Midway Madness. This Toy Story-themed attraction will supposedly put a new spin on that amusement park favorite, the shooting gallery. Only this time around, your ride vehicle will reportedly take you into the shooting gallery, where you'll help Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye round up the bad guys. I'm told that Imagineering wants to make this new MGM attraction the next generation of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. So expect a lot of interactivity as you experience Midway Madness.

Any typos are my own.

I know where you read it.

I was taking aim at HIS ridiculous statement.

Again, my points:

1) Disney can close or open any attraction at will.

2) BUT to announce that they would close a very popular attraction BECAUSE there was a pending Broadway show opening with the same theme is NOT LOGICAL based of the other similar situations currently operating in the parks and on stages elsewhere.

Tarzan Rocks did not close because of the B'way version.
Tarzan Rocks was never a crowd-magnet in the first place.

I really hope they don't close Voyage of the Little Mermaid, that's one of my favorites.
