Great thread....for those of us who have been in the hot seat we can all relate.....
ITS SO MUCH DIFFERENT.
You look at that screen and see the clock ticking down.
I made it to the hot seat , FINALLY, in August 04. This is my favorite attraction. The only reason I got to the hot seat was someone bombed on the 32,000 question. His wife was then first up..and she declined.....it then went to ME.
After answering 10 of 10 with relative ease...I did not make past the 8,000 question. I CHOKED.
Its so different with all of the "eyes" staring at you. BUT for me, the clock on the screen really made me panic.
If any of you want to sit in the "fastest finger" row...you have to talk to a CM at the entrance...they will give you a ticket and ask you to go into a different line.
Its actually , if not more, as entertaining as getting to the hot seat.
Later that night , back at POR, we were walking to our room and a lady behind said , jokingly, "how could you use a lifeline on quesiton #3.?"....I kept walking, until I just could not take it anymore and told her...."have you ever been in that seat?"
she said, "no". I did everything in my power to bite my tongue and not tell her to SHUT UP.
I walked away with a 1000 point hat and 5 pins. BUT I was angry at myself for a few days, because I always said...If I ever got to that seat...I was going to WIN.
Another thing....I have been "phone a complete stranger " three times. That is fun too. They have that red phone on Mickey Avenue...If you are waiting for your show and there is one going on...ask the CM if they used the phone yet...if not, simply tell them you want to be the "complete Stranger".
They will have you stay by the phone. I have been the stranger 3 times and answered 2 of 3. One time I got the person to the 125,000 point question and another to the 32,000 quesiton. They give you a pin for your particiaption.
To those of you who get in that seat....take my advice....JUST HAVE FUN.
