Monday 8th November for 4 nights at the Cheyenne
The Cast:
Me - 37
DW - 35
DD – Millie, 8
DS – Thomas, 4
After much thought back in April we took the gamble and booked for the 8th November for 4 nights in the Cheyenne. I can’t believe it is now only four weeks away
It has been great to enjoy the summer and have something to look forward to between the summer sun and Christmas.
We chose those dates because they were the last ones available at the time on the 40% offer. It also meant that we caught the fireworks at Lake Disney on the Monday and got to see the DLRP in all its Christmassy glory
We depart on Sunday 7th November (via ferry) and we are booked into the Kyriad for one night with a plan to check in at the Cheyenne as early as possible on the Monday. We got a fantastic rate for a family room at the Kyriad. We then have four nights in the Cheyenne before we book into the Kyriad for the Friday night leaving us plenty of time for a leisurely trip back on the Saturday. In the past we have travelled down to Ashford on the Sunday, caught an early ferry on the Monday to arrive just in time for the parade. On the way home we have left the parks on Saturday lunch-time to drive back and arrive home late evening. With the new plan we gain the same amount in the park (5 days) but stay in the Cheyenne for one less night saving us money for more presents!!!
We are most looking forward to seeing how the park looks in Christmas mode. Our previous visits have been in June time so it will be interesting to see the difference. We are all looking forward to visiting Toy Story Playland but it looks like I will be going on RC Racer on my own. We are planning to hit this area first thing on the Monday morning. Fingers crossed that this is the quietest part of the week!! We are also looking forward to seeing Cinemagic and Animagique again, we love those shows. I am looking forward to riding Tower of Terror and Rock n’ Rollercoaster (On my own because everyone else is either too small or too scared. I might entice DS onto Crush but we will see. Another highlight will be Cars. My favourite film of all time! We will also definitely be taking in the Moteurs Action Show. One of highlights usually!!!
Must dos in the park are Buzz, Space Mountain, POTC and It’s a Small World. DS is gutted that he is too small to go on the Indy ride because he is a massive fan.
We have sat down and planned where we would like to eat and we are probably about 90% sorted. (Always ready to change our plans though!!)
Sunday – Annettes. Good to start off with an old favourite. DW can enjoy another ‘Elvis’ all to herself
Monday – Lucky Nugget at lunch time because of the fireworks in the evening. We will grab a snack in the evening.
Tuesday – King Ludvigs. I love the French Onion Soup and we both love the Beef Stroganoff.
Wednesday – La Cantina in the Cheyenne. Read mixed reviews but more on the positive side. We all really like Tex-Mex so thought we would give this a go.
Thursday – Undecided. Looking like a big lunch in Pizza Planet. Every time we have visited before it has been closed and now that they have made it a buffet we are hoping to finally get to eat here.
Friday – Café Mickey. After trying (and failing) to book upon arrival last year I am going to book prior to departure to ensure that the week ends on a high!!
We did look at the other options. We had a really poor experience at Planet Hollywood where Millie had mould on her bread and generally the reviews are poor with overcrowding and poor service top of the complaints. Last thing you need is to be sat practically on top of another family when eating!! Rainforest Cafe only just missed out. The expense was the big factor but on our last visit the restaurant looked very 'tired' and has generally run down over the years with no refurbishment. It was a toss up between Billy Bobs and La Cantina so we thought we would have a change. Generally we have stuck to what we know but we are always open to suggestiongs
So there we have it. All that I have to do is chase the Kyriad for the reservation number (because I have misplaced it
) and sort travel insurance and we are ready to go.
Reading Zinderellas post http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2554325 has got us all VERY excited
