Milk prices

CNN Headline News was running a thing this morning on Dairy prices and how milk, ice cream, butter and all related things are going to be priced very high this summer.

Walgreens has milk on sale this week for $1.99/Gal here.
Costco was $2.39. It will kill me if our prices go up to the $4 range. My kids drink 6 or 7 gallons a week.

Just bought a gallon this afternoon. It's still just $1.49!

1.49 a gallon ! Heck, it is almost worth driving up to rochester to buy milk !

$2.69 yesterday in PA for 2% today $3.29 for 2%
I didn't realize the price went up today until I was in the store
so I didn't shop around
will check all the local stores for lowest price
10 mo old is just starting to transition to milk from formula
I thought we'd be saving money Maybe I thought wrong
she doesn't drink much milk yet and we use 2 gallons per week
oh boy we need one of those web sites for cheapest milk in your area like the gas price websites

I thought it was just Sam's jacking up the price for the weekend -- now I know differently. Today I paid $2.72 a gallon -- almost $1.00 more than a couple of days ago. Now at least I know why.

I just paid $2.99 for a gallon of skim milk. Strange thing though...some were priced at $.99!! Certain ones dated May 6 had red stickers with $.99 on them. Others didn't. I took one that expires May 9. I don't know...them marking it so low makes me wonder. Don't trust them. LOL!

Down here about 15 miles away from McArthur Dairy Farms it's a whopping $4.98 a gallon! Can you say soy milk? hehehe

Before I graduated from high school, I had a job milking cows once. I managed 3 days. Getting up at 3 in the morning, then getting done in time to go to school then coming home to milk them again... Let's just say the thrill didn't last very long

The place you were remembering is the place I was talking about...Halo Farm. They are still there after almost 30 years! Their bags are still the same. You can still see the milk being put into the cartons there, My DK's love the place. I don't know if they made ice cream there back in the 70's, but the stuff they sell there (and at their 2 Ice cream Pubs) is the absolute BEST! .. inexpensive too! Last time I was there a small cone (not really that small) was $1.25! They don't have the live farm animals anymore, but there are a number of "cow sculptures" in that same barnyard area.

Here in NC, skim is about $3.39 per gallon.

Well, we moved from Trenton in 1975, so it must have been new then. I do remember the milk production line, now that you say that.

No, I don't remember the ice cream. It may have been there though. I don't know if I remember live animals, but I'm sure that they were there.

I do remember the bags with red lettering, the red silo, and that there was a church around there. (I remember my dad saying to us if we misbehaved near there... hey God is watching you!)

My old neighborhood has changed drastically, so its nice to hear that some things are the same.
