Hello everyone...I am new to this board. :wave2:
I am going to disneyworld with my family next week. (leaving on 2/8) ds is 3 and dd is 18months. We are staying at the Boardwalk Villas and the rooms have full kitchens. I am trying to figure out how much I should bring as far as food/perishables on the plane. The hotel has a gift shop that carries some items I am told.
Has anyone been to this resort? For those of you that are not car renting, how do you plan on getting milk/juice/bottled water items?

any advice/info I would be great.

Hi,

How are you getting from the airport to BWV? If you're taking DME then you could use an online ordering service to deliver groceries to you, i.e. wegoshop is mentioned here a lot. I think there's another grocery service that is highly recommended but I can't think of the name right now.

If you're taking a towncar service then they will let you stop at the grocery store on the way (really!). The Screendoor store downstairs does have milk/juice/water and snack food. It's a fairly limited selection at premium prices so I wouldn't want to rely on that personally. If I were in your shoes I would get some things delivered. I don't really recommend packing things like water because #1 it's heavy and that would take a lot of your baggage allowance and #2 it would be messy if something spilled. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Hope you have a great trip!

wegoshop? is there another? If you remember the name of the other, please let me know. We are taking DME.
I didn't even know there were delivery services. I am going to look into that right now.
thanks

Wegoshop was great for our trip last year. They charge a fee based on the total purchase price of your groceries. We found it a great savings of both money and time to eat in the room for breakfast. We got milk, juice, fruit, bagels, cream cheese, cereal, diapers (because they took a lot of space in the luggage), donuts, bottled water, pop, etc..

It was a great service and worth the fee. We'll do it again on our next trip.

You can still go down to the Boardwalk at the little store which has milk/juice/soft drinks but the prices are pretty high.

Have a great time!

OK, I asked dh and he said the other service is GardenGrocer.com. Everything he's read here on the Dis has had good reviews so I'm sure if you do a search on it you'll find some info about it. You can even put special requests down (for things not on their list) and they will get it for you. hth.
