Has anyone had experience with travel insurance that would cover a military members' leave being revoked for use with a DVC rental? I know DVC rentals are very strict, but we are traveling with a large group and would love to rent a 2 bedroom villa somewhere. I am just worried because my husband is in the military, and we have had to cancel trips before due to his leave being revoked.

Also, does anyone know if there is a military forum on here? I looked but couldn't find one. Thank you!!!

No military forum. You may want to ask on the DVC forum though.

We are military and would absolutely never rent points due to this reason. There are insurance products that will cover revocation of military leave, but when you rent points from an owner privately, you wouldn't be covered.

You can book DVC units via Disney using their military discount. They are usually 40% off. I would do it that way.

I wish Disney would come out and let us know if they will be doing the military resort discounts next year. According to the Military Tips site, no word yet. Steve did post that Disney id doing an AP discount for early next year.

Yeah, it is uncertain as of now, but my guess is they will end up offering at least the hotel discount. I'm not sure how they could realistically offer the ticket special, unless they drastically change the contract.
