We purchased military tickets from our home base but we have another person with us that decided to come last minute. Can we purchase military tickets at the Main Gate?

Thank you,
Jenn

My understanding is that you can only purchase them once and would have had to have the other person's info at the time of purchase, even if you did not buy all 6. If the other person is eligible to buy them, then yes they sell them at the gate.

We have been told you cannot purchase them at the gates, they must be purchased at a military installations recreation office. Or Shades of Green. See if you can contact Shades of Green to get one. How far out are you from visiting? Depending on your base size, you can get your ticket same day. At our base, we were able to.

I do not think there is a Shades of Green at Disneyland. I know for a fact they can be purchased at the gate for Disney World if we are talking about the Military Salute tickets.

I guess that leads to a good question for the OP, are you taking about the Military Salute tickets or just a slightly discounted 1 day ticket?

unless things have changed then yes you can buy the salute tickets at the gate. I did this for my daughter a few years ago, as well as buying WDW tickets the same year
now for another question, since I am buying the tickets at the gate can I use Disney gift cards? I'm hoping to use gift cards I got off of Cardpool and Target to buy them/

Yes, you can buy them at the gate with Disney gift cards. And you can buy them more than once a year. We bought my Feb 2015 one through MWR, and bought 4 more two weeks ago at the gates. Yes, all Salute tickets, with no issues at all. We have dive this multiple times (buying tickets multiple times).

From what the web now says, no more than 12 tickets can be purchased and it no longer says that they must be purchased at the same time. That was a restriction several months ago at Disney World.

Yes, you can buy salute tickets at the ticket booths at Disneyland (no sales tax, which is apparently a difference fom WDW). The military rep needs to be there for purchase/activation, but doesn't need to be buying the ticket for themselves (so this would work in your case where you've already bought two but now need a third for another member in your party; my dad is an AP but buys the salute ticket for me). Once the tickets are activated, you don't need to stay together and can enter/exit the parks separately for the duration of the tickets (each person will have their picture taken and be attached to the ticket at activation).

It's not a one and done type of offer; you can buy them multiple times up until the limit during the offer period (this limit was 6, but it seems to have changed with the recent extension). And the DL purchase is counted separately than the WDW offer, so you could purchase the limit at each park within the same offer year.

The best website for info/experience with the program is http://www.militarydisneytips.com. It's mostly WDW, but they cover DL as well (my personal experience is only with DL).

You will have no problem buying tickets for your friend.

Everything @livbeatles said is correct. You can buy the Military Salute tickets at the ticket booths at Disneyland and you will not have to pay tax. The person with the military ID needs to be there when purchased and when first activated (although if you are buying there I think they can do both at the same time). After that, those tickets belong to your friend and they can come and go to the parks as they please until the days run out. You can now buy up to 12 Salute tickets before the current offer expires on December 20, 2015. So even if you have already bought 6 tickets, you can buy 6 more at the Main Gate. Here is more information about the extension (and a good website for Military discount info when it comes to DL and WDW) http://www.militarydisneytips.com/b...isneys-armed-forces-salute-has-been-extended/

Yes. I bought one yesterday for my friend. No issues. I was present for the purchase and first time activation and she's free to use the remaining days without me.

Can the tickets be activated when purchased, but not count towards one of the days? My sister is military and is getting tickets for me and my kids. We want to purchase on Saturday, but our first day in the park will be on Sunday. My girls and I want to be there for opening, but my sister isn't a morning person, so she wants to get there later. Is this possible?

You might want to review the Disney info regarding Military Tickets there are two pages of detailed info. It should answer your questions.

Just double checking . . . military tickets can still be purchased at the ticket booths at DLR? Also, how early do the ticket booths open? If we are doing EMH/MM (staying onsite) this weekend at 7 a.m., will the ticket booths be open before 7 a.m.? Thanks!

I think they should be, but if you are going to arrive the night before you can go to the ticket booth then also instead of wasting time that morning, and usually the lines are almost non existent if you go the evening before! Or at least they have been everytime we have went
