Can I get a little help please? Family is going for 6 days in November. We will be purchasing the 4 day military tickets and I have the free dining packages for both families that I only purchased the 2 day hoppers with. We will be arriving on the 13th but our packages dont start until the 15th. Do I use the military tickets for the first 2 days, switch to the package for 2 days then back to the military ones. Or...can I use the military ones for the first four days and THEN use my 2 day package tickets? And how do I do any of this?

A. Do I use the military tickets for the first 2 days, switch to the package for 2 days then back to the military ones.

B. Or...can I use the military ones for the first four days and THEN use my 2 day package tickets? And how do I do any of this?

A. You can.
B. That's another way to do it.
Either will work.
C. Put all of your tickets into your MyDisneyExperience account(s)
and just use your MagicBands (or hard plastic tickets) to enter the parks.
If you wish to use "X" tickets FIRST, stop by any Guest Relations before you go to a park and
have the ticket you want to USE NEXT set to the highest priority.

You can book advance FP+ or all days of your trip.
It does not matter at all which ticket you use to enter a park on any given day
as to whether your FP+ for that day will work.
The booked FP+ will simply work if you have entered the park using any valid ticket that day.

EDIT:
I think you may be making a ticket-buying error.

In order to get the "Free" dining:
You must buy (minimum) the 2-day Hopper which costs $257, plus tax.
If you buy a 4-day Military Hopper, it costs $196, plus tax.

So, to get 6 days worth of Hopper tickets, you would be paying $453.00, plus tax.

HOWEVER,
If you buy a 6-day Hopper, it only costs $424, plus tax.
You don't need to buy the Military tickets... and you will save $29 per person, plus tax.

And, you CAN use tickets bought with the package BEFORE checking into the package resort.
(But, you can't book FP+ in advance for the two days before your package check-in... until you actually get to WDW and activate the package tickets for those first two days.)
You CAN advance-book FP+ for the 4 days you will be checked-in for the package.

Another option is to buy 2 sets (8 days worth) of Military tickets and use only those for this trip, and NOT use the 2-day "Free" dining tickets at all.
Just save the 2-day package tickets for a future trip.

Well, number of people in the family could preclude this option. Military only get 6 tickets per year, so if they have more than 3 people, they'll still need tickets for some of them.

I wish I could help you, I've only ever done the 4 day military park hopper. Every time I price it out, even with Free dining, it doesn't add up. The resort price alone puts us out, $350/night for AoA family suite vs. SOG for $100/night.

Interested to see what others have to say though.

we've gone and taken advantage of military discounts on rooms (never stayed at SOG but it is really nice), forgone the free dining b/c it never saved us money, and used the military 4 day tickets and on the 5th or 6th day we did disney springs or the pool, depending on the time of year we might do the mickey's not so scary party or the xmas party instead of another full park day and used the military discount ticket for that too.

Wait, we can use a military discount for MVMCP? Cuz we're going this year. Do I need to call or can I get the discount on their website? I'm glad I didn't buy yet cuz I surely would've paid full price!

Only certain dates will have a discount and more seen in Nov. You have to call SOG I believe. For me and my husband it wasn't worth the discount. It was like 5 bucks off. Now I have heard that they do military the day of at the park entrance. If you go onto MilitarydisneyTips.com there is more explanation on that.

Only certain days have a discount, and you have to purchase them there to prove military service.

DO NOT let them tell you you can purchase them at full price and then get the discount reimbursed when you get there - we lost about 70 our frist trip this way

Sounds like we won't be able to do it. We're going in Dec, the only dates available for the discount are in November.
