Military Ticket Questions

We are going in September, buying 6 of the Salute 5-Day Park Hopper Passes. I think I read that I can use days (let's say 3) and that the other 2 would be good for another trip. Is that the case?

Yes, as long as it's within this yr. and there are no blackout dates (I can't remember if Salute has them, but if they do it around the late teens through end of Dec.)

Verifying info. I have a 4 day park hopper military salute ticket. FYI, hasn't been used yet for an upcoming trip in July. Debating about another quick trip this month and adding 2 days. Is that possible at the guest relations ticket booth? Can I add 2 days to make it a 6 day military salute park hopper?

I believe you'll need to exchange it at base where you purchased the 4-day. WDW doesn't actually sell the Salute tickets.

Has anyone heard if/when Military Salute tickets will be offered again in 2025?
No, no one has this information yet. We don't usually hear anything until the day of or right before the release, which the past couple years has been in late fall. This past year it was October 24.

I am confident the program will continue, but the timing of the release is always a surprise!

Shades of green may be able to add two days on, I would call them and see what they can do.

FYI, you can add days at a WDW ticket booth. Did it this morning at HS.

CM this morning was very helpful. We added a 5th day and she said if we wanted a 6th just come back and add one. It was $21 and change per ticket to add 5th day.

Thanks for the update!

MYW is more expensive than Salute, but depending on dates can still be a considerable savings. I compared a 6-day base MYW to low season in August and the savings is minimal (like $2 + the tax). But compared to peak spring break in March the savings is over $200 (+ the tax). So PP needs to do some research and price comparisons. By contrast, it may only cost ~$20 to get a longer MYW which still be a good discount even if the extra day gets "wasted." It all depends on dates.
I came across this thread in a google search and this post has piqued my interest. If I were to get a MYW ticket and use it during a peak time, then try and upgrade to an AP prior to using the last day on the ticket, what value would Disney assign to the ticket to be applied towards the annual pass? For instance a 6 day hopper MYW is $606 but for our trip a 6 day hopper is $877 at the gate. Would be an incredible way to save on an AP haha

WDW only gives credit for the paid value on military tickets -- so $606 in your example. MYW is not a date-based ticket and doesn't bridge to that pricing structure.

Hello: We are going to have my dad get the Military Salute tickets for us, but he won't be in the parks with us all the time. I am pretty sure when we did this years ago, he came with us and we activated the tickets together at Disney Springs somewhere, then once activated we don't need him with us any more, correct? Trying to confirm that before purchase!

Thanks!
Kim

This is correct, he won't need to be with you once the tickets are activated - you're probably also aware that one of the tickets must be for your dad.

Also was wondering.. we are getting 6 day tickets - does my dad (the military member) also need a 6 day? Or can he have a lesser day one? Thanks for anyone who knows!

We leave Friday with 9 tickets all purchased from Shades of Green:
  • 5 Military Salute tickets &
  • 3 Magic Your Way military tickets purchased at a discounted rate at Shades of Green.
My dad is the eligible service member and has one of the Salute tickets. He is now suddenly unable to come with us on the trip. I came to this thread to verify the 3 MYW tickets will still be valid, but now I see people saying the tickets purchased at Shades of Green come preactivated. Can anyone confirm the Salute tickets purchased at Shade of Green are already activated? Or is it just the military MYW tickets that arrive activated? We've been to Disney many times on Salute tickets, but for prior trips we would buy on base and then go to Guest Services to activate.

Also here's my tip for those who need to activate: you can go to guest services before your first park day. There's no parking fee to visit guest services at Disney Springs, or we make a restaurant reservation at a Magic Kingdom resort and go over to activate at Magic Kingdom guest services.

Yes, unless something has changed since October (I don't believe anything has); all tickets from SoG are ready to go/already activated. You guys will be fine. I'm sure someone will come on here saying oh disney could stop to ask you for a military id; however I have never heard a report of that at WDW and we have used salute tix dozens of times over the years and have never seen it. If something crazy happened and they did you would just explain your situation but I'm 99.9% positive you will be 100% fine.

I'm curious how you're experience went with the military ID question? I'm in a similar situation where my stepdad is buying Salutes tickets and won't be with us the whole time. Thanks.

My son's finance is military and going to purchase the theme park tickets for Disney. When I looked at the website it says military was blocked out April 13, 2025 thru April 26, 2025 if you buy the Military Salute tickets. If she purchases the Magic Your Way military discounted rate tickets will they be ok. I am a passholder so I don't have to worry about my ticket but want to make sure she gets the correct tickets.
