Military /SOG question and waiting list

Has anyone ever been on the waiting list to get into the Contemp and actually get in? I've been on the list for 2 months and haven't heard from them yet. I did e mail them and they couldn't tell me where I was on the list. Was just wondering if someone else lucked out to give me hope. Thanks

I have. at least twice. What are your travel dates?

I have too (three times), but only for one or two days- ie- I was able to secure 6 out of the 7 days I wanted, got on a waiting list for the last day, and sure enough they called me for that day. Usually within a month of being put on the wait list. However, if you are going at a busy time, Thanksgiving/Christmas Break/President's Day Week/Spring Break, it will be less likely that a spot will free up. Although, I must say, in 1998 we got on the waiting list for President's Day week, I would say it was October or so, and about a month or so before Pres. Day, they called. I had forgotten we were still on the waiting list because we had decided not to go---so, you never know! I would hate to have to wait til only a month before our trip to solidify our hotel though.

you've given me hope!! We are going Oct 31-Nov 8. We are not quite a month out yet and I have a ressie at another hotel but wouldn't mind staying at least 1/2 the time in the Contemp!! Thanks for the replies. pam

I don't know how often the list is getting "worked", so it's hard to say when/if you'll get a call. A lot of people (me, LOL) wait until the very last date to cancel the reservation....so there's still hope. good luck!

Isn't the last day to cancel 30 days out w/o paying a penalty? For some reason I have on my calander "cancel SOG" on Sept 17 which puts me more than one month out. Maybe I gave my self a little more time just in case I forgot? I made the ressies so long ago I DID forget!! hehehe Wish me luck and thanks for the replies. pam
