Military salute tickets

I just ordered Military tickets from SOG last week. It took about a week from submitting my ticket order for them to contact me for payment. After payment, they Fed ex'ed the tickets to me. That took another week. So plan on about two weeks turnaround time from when he submits the order form. (Ours just arrived today, YIPEE!) Someone needed to be home to sign for the package because the tickets were activated. If you are staying at SOG, you can pick up the tickets when you arrive.

On the order form, I did have to list the names of each guest. Once the tickets arrived, there was no designated ticket already assigned to myself or my spouse. I just went in and linked them on our disney account. So I'm not sure how they would know if others in your party use their tickets before the military member arrives. It is when you activate them in person that the military member needs to be present.

As others have said though, please don't try to sneak through any loopholes. This is an awesome benefit and we'd hate to lose it! Call SOG and explain your situation and see what they suggest.

I might be wrong, but I think the reason they say other guests cannot use their military tickets before the military member, is because the military member usually has to be present to activate them. They are trying to avoid others in the party showing up a day or two early only to be denied entrance bc the military status has not been verified.

When you order the tickets through SOG and have them mailed to you, they verify the military member via info on the order form. I would think it would be okay for others in your party to use the tickets before the military member arrives, as military status has already been verified.

I have a follow up question. Turns out he will be able to go the same dates. I feel like it’s too late to order from SOG. Can he just go to SOG and purchase them already activated when we arrive in Orlando. Thanks

I am a dependant spouse as well - and when I purchased them through Leisure Travel, I had to sign that the solider would be using one of the tickets and that they would only be used by immediate family, and that they would not be sold for profit - so it looks like they are cracking down on it - this was Fall of 2018

I just traveled to WDW with my sister and friend in May of this year, and we have used these tickets for over 10 years now. Never, ever had to sign anything and never been told anything like that. As I said, we often buy the tickets directly from Disneyland ticket booths. Literally all they need to see is the military ID, make sure it's not expired and is the qualifying type.

Also, Disney's terms and conditions for this offer EXPLICITLY state that the tickets can be used by military members or their spouses "themselves and family members and friends." I have attached the link to the details. Its stated in the first bullet point. In addition, there is no language that one ticket must be used by the active duty member. It says either that person OR the spouse must use one of the 6. Disney doesn't enforce this part at all, though, when you buy the tickets through them directly. They literally don't care.

Yes he can. He can also get them directly from any Disney ticket booth. The only difference is, he will pay tax at the booth and won't at SoG.

The time frame is the biggest issue. The process took about 1.5-2 weeks to purchase through shades of green. A form must be filled out to prove the person purchasing is military. Then you have to rely on shades of green calling you after they have received your form.
You can give your tickets to anyone, it specifically says family or friends.
The last two years, Shades of Green then emailed me ticket numbers and we just uploaded the codes to MDE and we were good to go!
The process is probably different buying the military tickets at other places but this is how it is done at SOG.

Just a note, SOG only emails the ticket numbers to guests who are staying there. If you are not staying at SoG, you can still order from them, but you have to wait until they ship you the physical tickets. They will not email you the ticket numbers.

Ahhhh, got it. We have only stayed at SOG.
