Disney Adventure Planning Thread

More info from Instagram, this time about character meets and the rides: for both you can make reservations on the app once onboard. It says that there will be character meets without reservations as well and the rides will operate sometimes with and sometimes without reservations.

I think with that an early port arrival time will be important! But I also wonder how clued in the demographic on these cruises will be for the first year, a lot of people new to DCL might not be aware of how you need to get reservations for things and so on.
Agree. Also just lots of people who may not have any DCL status yet. I think my sailing is open for booking for general public at this point and things like Palo brunch are still available.

This might also go the other way: things that never were sold out suddenly sell out. Very different ship and different demographic might mean a very different cruise experience. Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Surely, they'd only be able to limit it to people who have connected to the ship's wifi? So, everyone will be turning up at the port super early to connect to the ship's wifi and book tickets irrespective of that PAT?

That seems to be inviting chaos!

Thankfully we're doing a back to back, so I presume that we'll get some kind of advantage for booking the meet and greets and rides on our second cruise?

You might be thinking too much into it. All it takes is enforcement of PATs, which Disney is pretty on top of. Unable to enter the terminal = not being able to get close enough to the ship to connect to the wifi.

We are sailing April 20 through 23 and are really looking forward to it. We have managed to book Palo Brunch and Teppanyaki so lunch is covered. As this is our first Disney cruise we have two questions:

When and how is to possible to arrange a disembarkation slot ? (If that is a thing). We are planning to visit the Jewel at the airport and the earlier the better so to speak. We are traveling on our own arrangements.

The evening shows are something we do not want to miss. We are not staying in a Concierge cabin, is seating based on a first come first serve or can you reserve once you are on board (similar to the rides ?).

Thank you in advance :)
