Has anyone had expereince using this discount with retiree id card? My dad is retired military, but he is not much on disney but my mom who has a dependent ID will be with us, Can we get all the discounts with her ID. Have booked a trip in May but just want to make sure when we get there we do not have problems.
If you book more than one room w/ this discount how does that work? I am asking for friends and parents. (I am the one that fills everyone in on the deals and such). Do they have to be at the same resort? And do they have to be for the same length of stay? Say some in the party want to stay for 4 nights at the Contemporary and others would rather stay for 8 at the Pop (or even all at the same resort). Just trying to give them all their options. And what about the tickets? Can they be given to adult kids and grandkids to use if they are with them at the time? Thanks!
I believe you can book at different resorts, and that they can be for different lengths of time (so long as the overlap). Call and ask a CM, and they should be able to tell you more. The one with the military status may need to be present at check-in to show the valid ID, so your friends might want to keep that in mind.
The tickets can be picked up at their local military office, they are able to get up to 6 tickets per military member. One of the guests must have a valid military ID (or a dependent's ID) to validate the tickets at WDW (like mentioned in previous posts). The tickets can be used for family or friends.

I have 2 military discount questions for all you Disney experts
I have a friend whose husband is deceased and was active duty and her children have military i.d.'s. Can her and her children buy these tickets? Can they have the room discount?? We have called Disney, but are getting different do they qualify for the room discount?? She has since remarried.
I also have another friend whose father is retired military ~ the father does not want to go, but the adult son and the wife of the retired military person want to go. Can they buy the tickets??
Thanks in ADVANCE!!!
All of the reservations must be in the name of the ID card holder, not in the civilian's name. Payment can be made, I believe, in a different (the civilian's) credit card holder's name, if that's what you mean. But, I have never done this personally, so I'm making an assumption which might be incorrect.Ok, just a couple more questions. If you book more than one room w/ this discount, do both rooms have to be in the name of the military person. Or can they book two rooms (one for them and one for another) and have them each in a different name. There concern is paying for both rooms and having the others have to pay them instead of them just being able to pay Disney. Did I make sense?

Thank you for posting that you were able to link the reservation to the ID card holder's name. When you call, the CM's don't always know this.Last summer when my sister came with us to Disney, her room was under her name for reservation but linked to our original reservation. When she checked in DH had to show his id, but other then that there was no hassle at all.

My family used the military room discount in November and the reservation was under my name, not my BIL who is retired Navy. We were told that when we checked in he'd have to show his ID, but when we checked in I asked the CM if he needed to see BIL's ID and he said no. I don't know if we just had a CM who didn't know or what the deal was, but the ressie was definitely in my name.
