Okay I have been to the Military Discount page, but I still have not figured if this is an Add-on to the base ticket or if this ticket covers base ticket and Magic You Way fee. Can anyone give me any guidance on this?

(Oh and before you ask, I am currently in Iraq, I am engaged, and I will be taking my fiancee to Disney World for our Honeymoon. We get married Oct 21, 2006, so there is plenty of time to plan the trip I am just trying to determine how much I need to save between now and then. I will be back in college in January, so yeah, funds are low once I get back to school [goodbye money saved on deployment]. I think I covered most of the major questions, but if you have more you can PM me)

APPARENTLY I CAN'T POST UP URLs, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND THE PAGE ON YOUR OWN

Hi, I wish you continued good health and saftey in the long duty you have been doing. I"m sending my dh over there for another long tour in just a couple of weeks.

Anyways, about the discounts. I don't know your rank and not a big thing but I would reccommend Shades of Green to start out. You pay according to your rank with the cheapest rooms starting at $99 a night I think. You can also buy the Stars and Stripes pass for cheaper than the MYW tickets through Disney. Sometimes you get lucky and the SOG is full and you can get an overflow rate for a Disney hotel. If you think that you are going to book at SOG and go with the Stars and Stripes passes then you have a better idea of what you need to budget for that portion of your trip. The military discounts for Disney is sporadic and not predictable in my opinion.

If you need further help, please don't hesitate to PM me. I"ll try my best to help you out. Godspeed to you and yours.

Shades of Green is also running a special for folks just returned from Iraq as well. I am not sure how long it lasts (you can look under specials at shadesof green.org)

Thanks, but I am still confused, the military discount page at the WDW web page says that the Stars and Stripes Magic Your Way(<all one pass)is $252 (we will use a 5 day pass just cause it is a number). Now the normal Magic Your Way pass is on sale for $240. So to better explain my question, the Magic Your Way is an Add-on to the base Ticket so the price is $240 plus the 7 day (because a 7-day is required) base ticket for $203. Is the Stars and Stripes Magic Your Way ticket just a straight up $252 and there is no $203 base ticket fee? I think I better explained myself there.

Oh and yes I was aware of the SOG, but did you also know that Disney resorts already offer 30% off for a room for 6 days or less, and 40% off for a room for 7 days or more?

First off, I want to thank you for protecting our country :grouphug: If you log onto mousesavers.com, the info might be easier to read there. I cannot answer your questions... sorry. I hope mousesavers.com can help you.
Secondly, congradulations on your engagement :earsgirl:

and last but not least.... welcome to the boards

The Stars and Stripes pass is for guests staying at SoG OR a Disney resort (but has to be purchased at SoG with an ID). It is the equivalent of the old Ultimate Park Hoppers. It includes unlimited hopping, Pleasure Island, Disney Quest and water parks. You are supposed to be only able to purchase it for length of stay (although they didn't check how long we were staying when me & my mom bought them).

I have never bought the MYW passes at SoG, but the price listed is the ENTIRE price, there is no base price underneath. With this pass you can add on options the same way as the regular Disney tickets. There is never any tax at Shades of Green. A 5 day MYW ticket from SoG with no added options is $189. A 5 day Stars and Stripes runs $252. The best ticket price would depend on what you really plan to do at WDW.

With the military discounts or overflow rates at Disney resorts you DO pay tax. You can also not stack the dining plan on top of those special rates. SoG is running a special for folks just back from OIF or OEF, they are not publishing what that rate is you have to call. It includes breakfast.

Whether staying at SoG is a great deal depends on what you are looking for. I personally love it, but for this next trip with my son I decided he would like Pop Century more due the theming and pool, and I really wanted to do the dining plan package.

I hope I haven't confused things more...

Oh, and you don't have to buy a 7 day MYW pass, you can buy any number of days. We just bought an 8 day MYW with hopper option.
