My friend is active duty and is eligible to purchase DLR park hoppers for $99 on base. It says that you can buy them for friends, but it also says that you may be asked to present military ID at the park. This info is listed in the terms and conditions on the DL site. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'd hate to buy them and then have to buy more tickets at the gate if they refuse me. But why would you be able to buy them for friends if your friends aren't military and don't have an ID? Thanks in advance for any insight.

They do ask for your military ID and one person in the party needs to have the ID. You can buy them for friends and family but the military member must be present when you pick up the actual tickets at the resort. They can however by you the non military salutes park hoper tickets at the military price. It's more then $99 though. At least that's been our experience as a military family.

When you buy these tickets, one of them has to be purchased for the military member (names are put on tickets at the time of purchase). So your active duty friend would have to buy one for him/her self, as well as the ones to give away. They check ID at the gates. In our case, my dad had to show military ID, and the rest of the adults in our party had to show our driver's licenses (the names on the tickets had to match our ID). We all went in together....I think my dad had to be with us. ID's were only checked upon first use.....after that we could go in without my dad and were not asked for IDs.

Not sure if everyone else who has used these tickets have had their names printed on them (or if they had to also show their driver's licenses to enter). But I can't recall reading any posts where guests were able to use these $99 tickets without the military member there to show military ID upon first use. But maybe I'm missing something.

As the previous poster said....you can use the regularly discounted tickets sold on military bases without ID. Happy planning!

When we purchased ours the military member had to show ID once, when picking up the tickets (we received kind of a receipt, not actual tickets, which we got at the gate), but after the first time military ID was not required.

FYI the 3 day military park hoppers have increased in price for after September 30th, they're now $120 each. If you buy the $99 tickets they must be used no later than that date.

the price is $99 till Sept 28th and those tickets must be used by Sept 3oth, not past. the new price is $125 - the reason is that Disney has kept the military discount at $99 for over two years now and normal prices went up, so they adjusted the new prices for after Sept 30th to be $125 for a 3 day park hopper pass...which is still a lot better than normal!

The first time we used the 3 day park hopper they asked for ID. After that when we had the actual tickets we never were asked for ID.

Thanks for all the input. I am going friday (sept 21) and saturday. Now my friend is thinking about going too, so I guess she would be there with us. If she doesn't go, we'll just get the regular for a friend kinda tickets.
