Welcome to the Dis glad you found us and glad to see you. This is not the best info, I think some other experts will answer your post with better info than mine.I think if you call Shades Of Green directly they can give you some solid info.Sorry I'm not that much of a help to you.I know though some great Dis folks will come through with some great advice for you and hope this gets the ball rolling for you.Happy holidays to you and your family. ::yes::

Hi!
Welcome back from the desert! My husband was over there last year as well. We have stayed at Shades of Green a few times and love it. They have a website www.shadesofgreen.org It has prices of the rooms as well as the stars and stripes ticket prices. I think you can even book the room online. We will be there in Feb and I can't wait! I hope this info helps you some.

Jason - make sure when you plan your trip to take advantage of all that Disney has to offer. There are many of outside of the parks activities that are great for families - if your children are younger try the tea party with alice and the mad hatter at the GF, or the pirate cruise from the GF. We did the family magic tour when my daughter was seven at the MK and it was the highlight of our trip. Disney CM's are great about helping with little magical touches like autographed pictures, suprises, etc if you ask - no guarantees but they try. Start thinking now of things you would like to do for your kids to have the magic come alive for them and then post questions on how to go about it, someone will be able to help you figure most of it out. :D

PS - thank you for protecting us!

No advice here.....just wanted to say THANK YOU and Welcome Home!!!

welcome home & thank you also!

sog has its own website which should answer a lot of your questions... i have read many reports of it being at capacity quite often with families being offered other accomodations at the same rate... i hope you have a wonderful vacation with your family!

We too have stayed at Shades of Green a few times and really enjoyed it. Have not stayed there since they remodeled, but did go and looked at it. It is a really beautiful resort. The SOG page will help as far as giving you prices on the different types of tickets available. If you still have questions, they will help you at Guest relations.

You might plan on taking advantage of Early Entry (aka Extra Magic Hour) as SOG guests can take advantage of it like other Disney resort guests. Some guests that have stayed at SOG stated that some mornings instead of waiting for the bus they walked to the Polynesian and caught the monorail to MK from there. But I will fore warn you about using that idea coming back from the park. We did that one year with 5 little ones and found that after a full day at the park it wasn't such a great idea (unless they are small enough for a stroller, but even adults can be too tired to walk the extra distance).

SOG also has a nice little shoppette in the hotel, so you can pick up any thing you might have forgotten or snacks or what have you.

Here is a link to a post that has some pictures of the remodeled SOG

Hope you enjoy your trip and welcome home.

go to www.shadesofgreen.org here you can see the resort, make reservations, and if the resort is full for the time you wll be there, they will find cheaper reates at other disney hotels for you. The stars and stripes tickets are for the length of your stay and includa all of the parks, water parks and disney Quest.

I would also suggest looking into Vouchers for some meals. There is an extensive explanation at the top of the budget board. And do Chef Mickey with your family for breakfast...it's a lot of fun. You could also get tons of pointers on the budget boards for saving money while at WDW, and I have found the resturant board very helpful with advice as well. This theme parks board is also great with tons of general advice from a lot of great folks here too!

Thanks Too, and Welcome Home.. ::yes:: .We currently have 2 close friends also serving the next year in Kuwait...NG Rainbow Division

Hoping you have a great trip!!!
