Thank you for your service. A little personal insite on SoG.
My DH was in the Army for 8 years (planned longer, but got out early on a partial disability from the Gulf War.) Anyway, the first time we went down we stayed at SoG and got the discounted tickets there. The resort is beautiful. The rooms are really big (2 beds, a sitting area and a fold out couch.) It is very quiet and peaceful (maybe a little too quiet.) My DD loved the Mickey shaped pool and playground. The restaurants were good and the busses ran very smoothly and everyone was very polite. The gift shop had a lot of patriotic Mickey stuff. Now, this was 11 years ago, but I am sure it is only even better now.
We can still book a military discount through SoG at Disney resorts, and we have in the past. We don't anymore because we like the
DDP and it is not available at SoG or any stay booked through them as the reservation, plus if any codes come out you cannot apply them witch may be worth more than their discount. But, when we did we would typically save about $15-$20 a night at the values, I don't know how much it would be at the other resorts.
If you call SoG they will let you know what you qualify for. Just know they keep buisness hours, not Disney hours, so call during the work day for sure.
Again, my family understands your sacrifice haing been in your shoes before. We know it is difficult but also know that America would not be America without what you do so we truly respect and appreciate your service.
