Just had to share. I just got off the phone to Universal when I booked 3 nights in a kings suite at RPR in July and got a 30% military discount!!! He comes in useful sometimes:rotfl2:

Hi I was just wondering what number you called to book on as I was speaking to a staff member on the Internet chat question thing they have and was told they don't give that discount to UK military??only US!!! I was so gutted but I haven't booked yet so if I was given the wrong info then I'll be so happy :thumbsup2 my hubby is in the RAF and we was told by somebody before that they had gotten discount too, did they ask for anythin in particular when you booked....

I just rang the hotel direct. Checked that they accept UK military ID and had no issues at all.;)

Thankyou thankyou thankyou :) you have made my night ad I can now book my 3 nights for next September! Also I notice you have stayed at SsR I have just booked 15 nights( same trip I'm booking the universal hotel for) and I can't seem to find many reviews on it ?? How did you find the size etc I know they have added new pool and it looks great I have 3 boys so a great themed pool is a must lol

What size of villa are you staying in? We've had both the studio and the one bed. The studio is fine for the two of us, three at a push but I wouldn't really want to be there too long with three boys. The one bed, however, should be fine. There's loads of space. In fact, we've lived in apartments with less space in the UK lol. The new pool arrea is nice I hear but you'll probably still want to head over to the main pool which is fantastic for kids and there always seemed to be something goinbg on to entertain them.

Does anyone know if they do discounts for veterans? DH spent 22 years in the Navy and it's only now since he left that we started going to Orlando!!!

There is 6 of us so we have had to get the 2 bedroom villa, our boys adored pop century lol and it was the first on site hotel we stayed in all my tris as a child and teen was at international drive! When I walked into pop I was completely overwhelmed by thensize and turning we all loved the bright colours!!I know it's not everybody cup of tea but I felt I was totally wrapped up in Disney ibhave been really worried that SSR would not be disney enough for the kids (or me) :rotfl:We also really enjoyed AKL apart from the quick Serve hated the lack of choice, I know my boys and my DM will really enjoy the movies by the pool and the fact they can hAve a nice walk around the resort and go back to the villa instead of ablittle room! My DM is in her late 70s so by early evening she is ready to retire or sit by the pool so she normally has the boys for hubby and I so we can go out to dinner a few nights each wk on our own :love:So knowing that they have a kitchen lounge and the boys have their own bedroom so they can sleep and my mum can sit and watch tv knowing she can move aroun without waking them will be great! Sorry for all the questions but was there many hidden mickeys ? Did you still get that Disney feel about the place? Understand the theme is horses not something we are into lol but it was such a good deal and free dining too!!! :) a big plus for me was the fact it's right nr DTD it drives my hubby crazy that after a long day and sometimes extra MH I drag him to DTD to shop ad I love the decor and atmosphere also the boys and daddy love DQ so the boys can pop over for an hour or so every other night instead of just the once or twice we normally go...... Did you ever do the walk to their or boat was it quick? Sorry for long post it's nice to get an idea from somebody who has been plus I'm Excited :woohoo:. P.s what service is your hubby or is it you who is in? And where abouts are you based x

We walk to DTD usually but sometimes get the boat back if we've had a long day. We like to stay in the Paddocks area as it's the close to the Marketplace.
My DH is actually in the TA and is a PTI with them. We live in Sheffield as that's where his other job is. All Universal seems to care about is that he has a current MOD 90.
