What is the military discount rate and how do I find out how to get it. My DH is retired Navy, and I am pretty sure that we would qualify.

The code is MTO. They are currently being offered on the Baltic cruises. We got a great deal on the May 26th Med cruise - 10 nights in a cat 4 for 2A/2C for $3500!

You can always try to enter a code for an upcoming cruise though to see if it takes it, even before its posted here. Sometimes the cat 12 rates are better than military rates. Although these Med and Baltic rates have been really good. Another thing is if the military rate comes out after you book and even after the penalty date, you can get refunded if you change to the military rate. If you have a TA (travel agent) look for those deals for you, will save you a ton of time. PM me if you want the name of my contact.

One nice point on the military rate--one military person qualifies up to 3 cabins for the discount. SO...if you are sailing with them in a different cabin, you'd both get the discount. This would happen, for instance, if you booked a second cabin for kids.

There are various sites that list the discounted rates (when offered) but since they are operated by TAs, we are not allowed to list them here.

You also cannot combine the military rate with any other promotion, so if you switch from a onboard booking ressie to military rate, you lose your $200 OBC from DCL... (However, you get to keep the OBC from DU if you book through them...) The price difference more than made up for the lost OBC for us though!

We were able to book a room for my mom on our upcoming Med cruise with DH's discount.

The way I look at it is the military is the reason she has never been able to live by her grandchildren so she deserves the discount too. LOL

It is pretty awesome - you can book up to three staterooms off of one MIL member - too bad we booked this one so last minute that no one else could go with us
