Military discount tickets through SOG

I have a question regarding who may use the discounted passes purchased through SOG...My DH is retired military and previously we have purchased and used these passes only for our immediate family. We are thinking about taking a trip with another couple and I'd like to know if we can purchase passes for them at SOG also. I thought I heard once that otherwise non-eligible members of your party may use these tickets also as long as they are accompanied by an eligible person. Is this true?

We may choose not to do this because we might want to split up and do different things and I would hate for them to feel stuck with us! LOL!!

When we used hoppers puchased from the base ticket office, they never checked our military IDs. The hoppers said military on the back of them but we were never asked for military ID at Disney. Maybe call or email SOG ticket office?

In December we were allowed to buy SOG tickets for everyone in our party, not just the military family members. We asked up front so there would be no problems. They said as long as they were purchased by/with the military member in attendance (someone had to show ID to be buying them) then we could buy them for as many people as we had in our party. We weren't even staying in SOG rooms or on SOG rates as my FL resident discount was better than their contract rates and the SOG rooms were full...
