Military Discount Question

I'm helping someone plan their trip and they are eligible for the Armed Forces Salute tickets. Those are 4 day park hoppers. If they wanted a 5 day pass what is the easiest and most economical way to upgrade? Can you do it in advance or once you get to WDW?

I don't think you can upgrade the Salute Tickets. When we wanted a fifth day the ticket agent at SOG ticket office suggested we just purchase a one day-one park ticket.

Btw, my mom also buys these - she gets the most she can and hoards them like a squirrel. They are a great deal!!!! The universal tixs are good too! Staying at Shades is another benefit - it's a nice little resort. If shades is booked, Disney gives a very good discount for other resorts. Example: shades is booked for princess run weekend, so we got rooms at Saratoga for a similar price as Shades.

Because of the steep discount, you can't add any days like you can on an ordinary ticket. Basically the options are to buy a single day ticket, purchase a 5-day military discounted package, or, if their party is 3 or fewer, they can purchase 2 AFS tickets each and use them back-to-back.

Add the Water Park Fun & More option, and you can wedge in a non-park day with a water park or two to stretch out the ticket...
