I have a couple questions in regard to the four day military promo tickets that we plan on buying on base well in advance.

1. Would we be able to link those tickets to our hotel reservations and dining plan, so they could be included in our magic bands that will be getting mailed to us?

2. It will be just my husband and I going for 8 days. Can we buy two passes each linking them both, therefore equaling 8 days per person?

I'm sorry if any of this is confusing, I could try to clarify more if needed. I'm SUPER excited! We just got all our price quotes today. :cool1:

I know the answer to number 2 is YES.

Number 1 we haven't dealt with yet, but I know you can make FP+ reservations with the Salute voucher before your trip. As to whether they end up on the MBs, I don't know.

Yes, you can link them in your MDE. Just use the very tiny numbers and letters on the bottom of the voucher. Magnifying glass may be needed. Otherwise can scan bar code and enter that way.

No, you cannot link 2 of the military salute tickets at the same time. You can do one ticket and than when that is used completely use can enter the other ticket. Kinda sucks but you can still use them back to back. That is what we are going to do. Just means getting the best fast passes for the second ticket will not be as good since you cannot select until it is in your account. I do not mind, as still the cheapest for 8 days. Otherwise, for some dollars more, you could get a Stars and Stripes 8 day hopper/water parks from SOG.

Thank you for your service.

We are going on a extended family vacation, 14 people. My dad is in the military. Can he get 6 passes and his spouse also get 6?

I believe it's 6 per active duty family. They keep track of it. :(

Thank you everyone! I'll have to discuss with my husband what he would like to do. :)

No, it's a total of six tickets per military member. My understanding is, if the spouse was also a qualified military member, the couple could get six tickets each. I don't have confirmation about this. Additionally, if the couple had more than four children so six tickets wasn't enough to cover their family, they could receive the necessary additional tickets.

I have the old style ID, the old green one that looks like a spouse ID. It isn't expired and I'm still in the reserves. Will they accept that ID if it's not a CAC?

I went in Feb and will go again in Sept. I purchased 2 sets of Military Salute for me (via active duty son-in-law) and I was able to use the vouchers from his base to link the tickets to my MB. Via my military retired DH, I ordered Military Salute tickets for him and our DS through Camp Pendleton which were delivered by Fedex. I linked those tickets and resort reservation to our MBs.

To link the tickets, you can follow the instructions on MDE and type in all the tiny numbers OR you can do it the super easy way that I did- with the MDE APP on my phone. Just follow the instructions to scan the tickets. All of those I scanned were vouchers.

I probably misunderstood your post, so I apologize in advance if I did :goodvibes

Did you use your DH as the sponsor (using your dependent retired ID or his ID) to activate the tickets in February? And how many did you activate?

I am asking because you might have an issue using the tickets for your next trip.

Just because you were able to purchase 12 tickets, and link them to your MDE, does not mean you will be able to actually use them in September. You are only able to ACTIVATE a total of 6 tickets per sponsor ID# per promotional period. You can purchase as many as you like.

I could go to our ITT base tomorrow and purchase 100 ~ they would sell them to me. But when I get to Disney, they will only let me activate 6 of them total for the entire promotional period which is approximately 1 year. (the dates are on the military salute tickets/vouchers)

The only exception to this is if there are more then 5 dependents in the immediate family of the sponsor.

Again, if I misunderstood the post, I apologize.

NOT TRUE. I was easily able to link 2 tickets for each of us for our September trip. you just have to be anal about making sure you assign the tickets to the right person as once they are in you CANNOT change them. I scanned them in with my iPhone and as I did so, wrote the name on the back and flipped it over so there was no possibility of a screw up on my part.

no. it is six total unless the SM has more than 5 dependents( as in more than 4 kids) this is set in stone..extended family is not eligible.. only the Servicemember, their spouse and minor children listed in DEERS as dependents.

you do realize that your AD SiL and your Retired DH MUST be there in person to activate their respective sets of tickets, right?!

Not exactly. The service member is qualified to receive six tickets for family and guests. There is no rule that the tickets must be used by the service member's immediate family. Disney Ticketing and Shades of Green both sell the AFS tickets. They would be unable to access DEERS for service member info. At the time that the tickets are activated at a Disney Ticket Booth or Guest Relations facility (at park gate or DTD), the service member will be asked for certain ID and base info, plus a list of family/guests who will be issued an AFS ticket. Guests will be asked for name, address, and phone.

I can second the ability to link two back to back Salute tickets, we went in March. My son is the military member and was only able to stay for a few days due to his DGF's class schedule, but he bought 4 tickets, 1 each for himself and DGF and two for my DH (I have an AP). The two tickets were activated at the same time for DH, and he still has two days remaining that he will use during our September trip this year.
