milesource redemption - avis flex rewards

Has anyone redeemed milesource points for the hertz/avis flex rewards? I was just wondering is this a gift certifcate that you redeem when you pay for your car rental? If so, how long was it good for. I'm just wondering if I ordered one today, will it still be valid for my November trip?
