Hi there- trying to plan for our honeymoon next year. I know this is possibly going to be guess work, but anyone know if there are miles plus money seats available in August? We're going next year, but wondered whether they stop this benefit in peak season.

Any thoughts on average/expected price pp?

I would think so, we got a miles plus money flights this year, 3 adults and 1 child leaving Aug 15th, returning on the 4th Sept. The cost per adult was £640 (also got 3% cashback via quidco), which to be honest was more than I was hoping to pay, but in the end looked quite a good price. What I would advise though is not to dawdle once they become available, they didnt hang around very long!

Hope this helps.

I am looking for the same thing but as going september this year wont have the money to pay upfront so I looked at VA flydrive and for the 19/08/2011 it came out £2555 for 3 adults and a child with a £450 deposit(£777 per adult and £459 child+ taxes) but off those prices was a 10% discount and only had to pay £450 to secure so tempted.Try flights2florida as well as they only charge £100 dpp so I have been told.Just waiting for a price. I know it is a while but I got m+m booking in 2007 when we went in the august for £443 aech and £302 for DD and didnt book till the april. If you look to see if your dates are availible this year still and see how much they are.I looked and still loads availible but betwee £750-£950. Will not pay that.Would go indirect first.
Good luck let us know how you do

For us it was as cheap to book with Continental as codeshare on Virgin, M&M were no cheaper and our exact dates were not available.

About 3 weeks ago more were released but still £664pp

They do release M&M at peak times but the savings are nowhere near what they were a few years ago and you need some luck to get them.

Do the codeshare flights (Continental for example) also earn miles? And if so, do you earn them at a lesser rate than if you fly with VA?

Not done codeshare for a few years but got full rate last time.

Thanks for the replies, that's quite reassuring. i don't want to rush into anything and spend more than we have to!

Very wise. :thumbsup2 It can be frighteningly easy to get caught up in all the grand ideas and dreams, listen to what everyone else is doing and momentarily lose sight of your budget. Or miss a good deal. I could have saved a few hundred quid if I had waited a few months to book this trip. You live and learn. Keep us posted though. :goodvibes
