My MIL is setting out to drive me crazy - again.

DH talked to her about 2 weeks ago and she mentioned that she wanted to come visit us this Saturday. We told her that would not work for us because we had plans to go visit a friend of ours that weekend and we would not be home.

Well....DH calls her last night just to see how things are going and she mentions her trip to see us this Saturday. Hello? We told her that we would not be home! I guess she just choose to ignore that fact and thinks we should stay home just for her to visit and forget all about our friend.

Well it turns out that we are not going to be visiting our friend afterall because DH has pink eye and our friend is pregnant and we don't want to risk exposing her to anything like that. However, I am still pretty ticked about her just ignoring our plans and expecting us to change everything around for her. It is not like this is a new thing so I should just expect it but it still irks me to no end. I really think that even though we will be home that we still should not allow MIL to come visit just on the principle of the thing.

Whew! Thanks for letting me vent. :)

MIL, would be the biggest draw back to somehow getting a bill pass where a man could have many wifes

I would make other plans. I am fortunate and get along well with my MIL.

I say let her come because if not this Saturday, it will be another Saturday. I'd get it over with.:p Maybe your DH will share his pink eye with her. (Did I say that???!)

A friend of mine has recently gotten divorced. She said the only way she'll ever remarry is if the guy is an orphan.:teeth: She had a MIL that makes Snoopy's MIL look sane.;)

Becka, I'd take off for the weekend anyway.:teeth: She needs to listen when she talks.:)

Oh, that sounds like something my MIL would do. Pixie dust to you!!!!!
I think you should take off this weekend, just to prove a point to her, but the practical side of me agrees with Buckalew. Get it over with now and then you dont have to tie up another Saturday when you may have something going on. Im aggravated just thinking about it(can you tell Ive been there?)! ;)

Let her babysit while you and DH go out for a date. :) Take in a movie and a meal. :p

LOL!!!:) I agree, just get it over with. I don't have a nice MIL either, but luckily she lives about 2 hours away and we don't see her often. I always tell DH she needs "Professional Help" if ya know what I mean.

LOL, Jason.

Becka, I feel for you! I know exactly where you are coming from.

The best thing about my MIL is that she lives in Maine and we live in California!
