Once we'd all gotten settled in to our room and checked out every square inch, we were ready for some lunch! Mike and I suggested heading to Downtown Disney since there was more of a selection there. Plus, I knew that I'd be able to sneak into the World of Disney while we were there, so I guess I really had an alterior motive for suggesting DTD!
As we made our way to the elevator, I had to snap a shot of a Hidden Mickey in the carpet:
We made our way out to the bus stop and before we knew it, we were on our way! I had to document everyone's first ride on Disney transportation!!
It had been a long time since breakfast that morning, so our top priority was finding some lunch. We mentioned Earl of Sandwich, and everyone seemed to agree that they wanted to try it out. It seems like we always eat here when its really crowded, so I got in line to place our order while Mike looked for a table for all of us. Thankfully he found two tables near each other pretty quickly so we had a place to all sit together.
I got the same thing I always getThe Ham and Swiss:
Mike had The Full Montagu:
And Dustin had The Earls Club:
Everyone really enjoyed their sandwiches, so we made a good choice!
With our tummies full, we decided to head over to one of my favorite places:
I went off to the Jewelry section to see what the Dooney & Bourke selection looked like, and to check out the Chamilia charms and bracelets. Id been eyeing the bracelets for a while, but of course there was a heard of people standing around the counter, so I couldnt even get a good look! They did have a D&B that I liked, but I figured since it hadnt been too long since I got a new Vera Bradley that I should just wait and save the money!
At some point we all got separated, but when I found Allen he was trying on Mickey ears:
As you can tell from his shirt, it had started to sprinkle on us a bit between EOS and the WOD store.
We exited the WOD store empty handed, believe it or not. I did find several things that I liked, but I didnt want to keep everyone waiting, so I asked Mike if we could make a stop back by on our way home from the cruise. He agreed, and I was happy that Id have more time to shop.
Gayle and Allen decided to get a picture with Cinderella as we left the store:
Since Gayle and Allen are Harley owners, we thought wed walk over to the Harley Store. But, when we got to where we thought it was, it had moved way over to the other side, so we decided to skip it, especially since it had started to rain a little harder by this point.
I snapped a few more pics as we walked back toward the
Lego store:
We then decided to stop in the Ghirardelli store. The rest of the gang went into the shop side while Mike and I went into the soda fountain side to pick up a treat:
This has to be the most delicious chocolate drink Ive ever tasted. We actually got one earlier in the year when we were there for the Princess, so we knew that we had to order it again this time, and it didnt disappoint!! Its called the Thrill Hill Chill, and the menu describes it as being More than a milkshake! Two scoops of vanilla ice cream blended with our world famous hot fudge and topped with semi-sweet chocolate chips! Its worth every penny of the $6.95 price!!
While savoring every sip of our treat, Gayle and Brandi decided they wanted to check out the Christmas store, and I was definitely down for that, so we headed over there. Of course I took pics of several things that I lovedthe first being my favorite:
Would this not be adorable atop a tree:
By the time that Gayle, Brandi and I had finished looking around, this is where all the guys ended up:
I guess they werent as excited about all the ornaments and decorations as we were!!
We finally made our way out of the shop and moseyed back to the AKL bus stop.
