Wow, it doesn't seem like 5 weeks have flown by. Isn't it great to know that you can make such great strides in such a short amount of time? Your thoughts about the People magazine article is very understandable. Sometimes when I am wondering if I will ever get to where I am going, I remind myself that there are others on this board that have thought the same thing and have further to go than I and yet they continue on every day, which makes me realize that I can do the same as well. After all, in reality we all have the same goal no matter the amount we want to lose and that is to become healthier so that we can lead a more full life and enjoy every minute of it. But you know it is so much more fun to lose with great support. :grouphug: :teeth:

Have fun coming up with new concoctions this week. I think I am going to actually drag out some of those cookbooks. Hope the rest of your day is good. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hi Lesli!

Glad to see you got where I am coming from!
If you find any yummy ideas in those cookbooks you better share!!!

Have a great night!

Just stopping by to send you some mojo for a happy, healthy day!

Congrats on sticking it out this long and a huge congrats on kicking your Coke habit! (wait, that sounds bad...)

You're doing wonderful things with yourself, and although the journey is long, you're on your way and you WILL get there!!!

Hey Mike!

Stopping by to say hello and to WISH you a wonderfully healthy and happy Monday! :sunny:

Congratulations on your 5 week WISH anniversary, on dropping soda from your diet, for attaining a shiny, new clippie, and for an amazing start to your journey to a healthier you! :jumping1: Keep up the good work Mike and you will meet your goals!!! ::yes::

Have a gr8 day! :teeth:

Way to go Mike!!!! Congrats on the 5 weeks with WISH. And also on the no cola!!! That is a great accomplishment!

Hope you are having a wonderful day!!!! Keep up the good work, you are doing great!!!

Hi, Mike! Congrats on your 5 week anniversary! YIPPEE!!! We are so thrilled you found your way here!

I am so sorry you are having such a rough time at work. None of that can be easy. I know my daughter's first choice university is going through similar housing issues, and I understand a good friend's son did not get dorm housing at his college, though his college is helping him find an off campus apartment. I think dorm living is such a critical component of the freshman experience and really helps kids find friends and support, that I will do whatever I have to in order to facilitate Jenn's placement in a dorm. Just hang in there. I am sure your residents are glad to have someone as compassionate as you around, even if you are delivering bad news.

Hmmmm. . . . so you shave your head, huh? I always find it is actually helpful to have hair to tear out. ;) You may want to re-think that!

Hope you have a great day! :flower:

Hi Cam,

Thank you so much for that message! I definitely needed it today! I had to call some more folks and tell them we were moving them. That is not fun! My advice is make sure you take all deadlines seriously when it comes to your daughter's housing. Send paperwork back no later that the day after you get it. Many times the time and date it returns affects how well preferences can be met.

I don't think I would have that much to pull out if I grew my hair out! hehe Besides I have been shaving it for ten years now. The first time I did it, I was a hall director for a gifted students summer program at Cornell (where I went to school) and my staff decided they wanted to shave their heads to scare the kids into behaving (we had a group of 300 16yo boys!), as their supervisor I had to join in! hehe What fun memories!! hehe! It definitely worked. LOL

Thank you again and I hope you have a great one!

Hope today was much better for you at work. I am sure that as things get closer to school starting, it gets pretty crazy.

Thanks for reading my journal so thoroughly. ;) Existing? Yeah, that is what I felt like as well. I can honestly say that since starting with this program, I have not done that. Each day is a progression, but I don't exist anymore as I am learning to live.

Have a great evening. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hey mike, You are making me relive my college day. Not that it was a very long time ago. I am only 25 but I left college to go to ann arbor, michigan because DH went to med school. But I nevered lived in the college dorm. But sitting in class and listening to all of the students talk about the DORMS was so funny. All the stories about the MEAN supervisors (not mike though). I went to a parent worst nightmare the University of Wisconsin-Madison. So many parties in one place. Well getting ready to watch the space shuttle take off with the kids. I will have to put this in their babybooks. Well great job so far mike. Your weight loss will contine to inspire me. Good luck with the upcomin week at school. Don't stress out too much and don't let it result in eating more bad food. Leave fruit and veggies in your office instead of candy. kardiebelle

Hope your day is better than yesterday and your week is getting better by the day - just think, they will be back before you know it and then there will be all new dealings!!!! :)

Keep on

Hi, Mike! I just wanted to drop in and tell you I am thinking of you and hoping those difficult phone calls are a thing of the past. Hopefully, today will be calmer with less tension or controversy.

BTW, last night I used the leftover mushrooms & onions (flavored w/A-1) in eggbeaters -- delicious! I definitely do not have your knack for inventing recipes, but once in a while, an odd combination really pays off.

Also, if you like spicy food, you might want to make some cauliflower poppers to have around. Here is the recipe:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees; spray cookie sheet with non-stick spray
Break up a small head of cauliflower into grape-sized pieces,
Mix 1/2 tsp of each of the following together in a small bowl: cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper;
Mix dry ingredients with cauliflower in small bowl and spread cauliflower on cookie sheet in single layer
Bake for 10 minutes; stir or shake; bake another 5-10 minutes until cauliflower is dry.

YUMMY and spicy! Enjoy

Thanks for the recipe for the pepperoni chips. I am going to try that with my favorite turkey pepperoni slices. I bet it will be delicious!

Have a great day!

Hi Mike,

I hope you are having a good day!!!! How are things?

I have to say the pepperoni chips sounds darn good, but I don't really like pepperoni......but I may have to give them a try. Who knows, I may like them!!!!

Hope you have a great night!!!

Keep up the good work!

Hi Lesli,
It was a better day, thank you! I avoided all talk of placement and focused on other projects and then we took my new boss out to lunch to welcome her. We went to Ruby Tuesdays and I think I did well food wise, I had their smart choices grilled chicken, which was sooo yummy covered in crushed peppercorn spicy goodness. And you get to pick two of their sides to go with it, I got sauteed mushrooms and a side cesar with the dressing on the side. It was a fun stress free afternoon!

"learning to live"... I love that! I definitely feel like that is what I am doing with my healthier choices and especially by reading journals and posting on here. I am glad to read you entries, however long, as they always give me good points to ponder! :flower:

Thanks!

Hi Kardibelle!
Thanks for your supportive words! I am never mean to my students... except when well deserved! hehehehehe! :goodvibes Glad to give you a trip down memory lane! hehe. No worries here with me and stress eating, interestingly enough I stop eating when really stessed! hehe. Thank you though for your concern, I appreciate it! Besides, I took all the rest of the junk I found in my house (ie, the soda, cookies, rest of the peanut butter cups) and brought it in for our student summer work crew. I was the hero today when it was 90+ and they could enjoy a cold coke! hehe Glad someone enjoyed it!

Have a great night!
