I have meetings up the wazzoo all afternoon and a billion things to get done first. I will probably not be back around after 4pm or so!!

WISHing you a good day. It's gonna cool down here a bit today then pop right back up in the 90's. I'm getting tired of the heat and we really need some rain. We haven't had a good rain since June 13. It's so bad that the corn stalks are starting to look like pineapple tops (you know, the pointy part of the top of the pineapple). YIKES

Ya know I too kinda like Janelle. At first I was thinking that she was going to be like Holly last year. I don't know why, but she has really changed my mind about here. I really hope that she does not get voted off. I really think that the other nominee (can't remember his name), Michael (?) is going to to unless he wins the veto tonight! We'll have to wait and see!

Sorry your day is so hectic, but at least you are making the best of it!

Well I took a cooking class in college and as a kid had to cook for my sister & myself a lot so that sparked my interest in finding good recipes, and then add in the obvious fact that I like to eat and viola!! I especially enjoy cooking when I am watching what I eat because it forces me to be creative. So instead of accepting blah diet food I search for recipes on line of things I know I can eat, and sometimes I find a gem! I also love cooking for people so that makes me strive to find new ways to 'out do' myself. I find cookbooks fascinating too, the science that it takes to make a perfect dish is amazing to me. Cooking an intricate dish is therapeutic to me too, all the zen like dicing and chopping! hehe! My fave cookbook at the moment is of course my "Cooking with Mickey & the Disney Chefs" book.

I will get some down time soon as I wait for my groceries to arrive. I will try to get a chapter of the new Harry Potter done as I wait.

mmmmm delicious tuna!!! I had the rest of my tuna for lunch today but was out of lettuce for wrapping so I cut up a green pepper into extra wide strips and used em as "scoops"! Very tasty!

I can never wait patiently enough for the episodes so I go online and read the live video feed recaps, so I know who won veto and what happens but I won't spoil it for you!! I can't wait to see what happens with the vote off this week!!!

You said you're favorite book right now is the Disney Chefs one...is that the blue one?? If so, have you made the Le Cellier soup yet? I found that if I substitute guar or xantham for the flour (not cup for cup, but I'm sure you know that...ick!) and pick a lower carb beer, it tastes the same and is so much lower in carbs...YUM! My own little "taste of Disney" at home.

I haven't been in a soup mood lately with the hot weather, but I made it last Christmas Eve (with the Artist Point Berry Cobbler..um...) and it was wonderful.

Quick update which will get more detailed later:

* Massive thunderstorms last night knock out our power at around 5:30-6pm
* Power not restored until this morning.
* Computers here in office affected and trying to get everything figured out!
* Was SOOOO hot trying to sleep last night, so I slept for maybe two hours.
* Um, no way to cook last night and I had to remain on campus as emergency staff so I had to order dinner from the one place delivering in the area that had power, Papa John's Pizza! Oy! I got hotwings and a small veggie loaded pizza. I had six wings and two pieces of pizza with veggies from two other slices, and gave the rest away. Not completely on plan but not bad!
* Will get back to the DIS late today!! I send happy wishes to all and hope everyone has a good day!!!!
