We have an ADR for CP on June 23 for 4. Our original pair that was going to come with us had to back out-he's getting deployed so that's a no go. I heard just to keep the ADR and go with it. Now we have friends with 2 children under 3 whom we would love to join us but there is nothing available ALL DAY. Do you think we might be able to show up with the 2 extra kids, or would we have to wait a long time and just meet them for lunch somewhere?

No go. You have a ressie for 4 and want to squish 6? It's a different table size, most of the tables there are for 4.

Well I was hoping they'd be able to find a table for 6, but I'm not really holding my breath. i guess I just wondered if it would make sense to try and ask for a 6 top. I figured we'd have to wait if getting a chance at all.

I would call back and explain the situation....and ask them if it would be possible to have2 extras added to your ADR. I mean, in my mind, if they already had a table availible for your original party, then I am sure if they know ahead of time to expect two more, they can make it work for yall. They do not give out ADRs based on table size...its based on availibility.

The do give ADR's Based on table size so that is incorrect. The do not book parties larger than they have a size open for. I would see if they have a party of two available for the same time and ask at the podium of they can be seated together.

I had to wait 20 minutes approx to get a table without reservation at the CP for dinner last week.

We went from 5 to 6 adults the last time we ate there. As long as you're ok with them possibly telling you no and then having to decide which family stays and eats, I'd say why not?

The dining reservation works on a template that takes into account Size of party and availibility.I would call and try to add more people to your adr. I would not just show up. Going from 4 to 6 requires a larger table and they will either make you wait or tell you No.(I have seen Disney restaurants do this).

Thanks-I pretty much figured it wouldn't work too well. I can't take the kids with us-we don't know the kids. I've been overseas too long to have them know me and vice versa. I don't want to be turned away because that would be completely unfair to say no to them or us leave the meal. Chances are in the middle of June we wouldn't be able to walk up. Oh well. It was a good idea, but I had a feeling it wouldn't work. Thanks!

I'd phone and see if you can get another table for 2.

We went during Free Dining and most of the time had a table for 6. I was trying to split the table size to 4 and 2 so my neighbours could dine together as a family. On the few times we actually had a table split 4 and 2, they were able to sit us together. My neighbours wanted to dine with us!

If that doesn't work go to your ADR a little early and check in and explain that you need seating for 6. You might have to wait a little longer, but chances are fairly good they will let you in.
