might be terribly dumb questions

Hello! I've never been to Disney World...but we're planning on taking our daughters (8 and 5) in September. We found a nice deal through expedia which our travel agent was able to get Disney to agree to...so we went ahead and booked (but still can cancel - we have a few days). I'm a little confused so I thought this would be a great place to find out.

I don't believe we're getting any kind of "promotion" with this deal. It's like 1500.00 for the POP hotel and five days of hopper passes. If Disney comes out with a promotion for Sept. but we've already booked this trip - will Disney allow us to change over to the promotion. For example - if they offer a free dining plan, etc.

I am certain this question gets asked a lot so I'm sorry - I tried to figure it out on my own by searching the site - but I'm not even sure if I know if we already have a "promotion" and therefore cannot double dip???? I'm so confused!
Thanks so much!!!

Both current promotions end before September, but if one comes up your Travel agent should be able to get it for you with no problem. The likely one to come up in Sept. is Free Dining. At a Value like Pop that would be the Quick Service Dining Plan.

Thank you SO much :) This is all confusing for me. When I asked my agent about this exact thing...she kind of left it as though if other promotions came up she could "try"......but most people on these boards make it sound like when other promotions pop up they pretty much surely get them. I really hope we can get the quick service meal plan if it becomes available!!! I'd hate to regret booking now (early) if we can't :(

Thanks again for your thoughts!

Disney only sets aside so many rooms of each type for each promotion. When your travel agent said she would "try" she probably was thinking that she would do that - "try" but there isn't any guarantee that the promotion would be available for your dates and/or room type. To get the promotion (that may or may not be offered) you may have to change room categories or possibly change resorts. People on the boards may get the promotions but sometimes it requires them being flexible date wise or resort/room category wise. Also if you already have a discount (and it sounds like you do) you can not stack discounts -- meaning you would have to choose which discount you want.

to keep watching these boards. My DD (adult) and I are currently booked for 7n/8d at Pop Century with 7 day Park Hoppers for a total of $1283. You have 2 kids so their park tickets add to your total. I would STRONGLY suggest watching the Codes board and the Restaurants board for the possible release of Free Dining (maybe the end of March). You may very well be able to add most of your food to your package for a very small price (any room discount you may currently have vs. rack rate)

Keep asking questions, that's what these boards are here for!! And welcome to the DIS.

I thought last year aug/sept. fall free dining was regular, and late fall/winter was QS for the values?

You are correct. As for what will happen this year - we'll just have to wait and see, but I would be surprised if the FD promotion (in some form) was not offered for this year.

Thanks so much!

SOOOO - would it be smarter to go ahead and book the airline tickets because we found a great deal? (67.00 each way from Ohio to Orlando) And then wait on booking room/hotel toward the end of March or early April? We were going to book all three through the agent/Disney.

just as easy to do it yourself. I hate letting someone else do it for me, too much of a control freak!!! And you don't know how long those fares will last. Book - book now!!!

Heyo, it is all really confusing, I am wanting to book for end of May/June next year. Shopped around and one of the best deals is with virgin but really don't know wether to book yet or wait to see if any offers come up, just not sure tho when you get free dining etc, they might bump the prices of the actual holiday up so its not really "free"??? Don't mean to sound cynical, just not sure what to do xxxx:confused3
