Hey everyone!

I might be headed on a business trip to Worcester, MA. Still working out the details, but already getting my wheels turning. I would be working for 2 days and then heading to Boston. Give me a heads up...what do I absolutely have to do, see, or eat?!

I am hoping to have DH and DS with me, but we will see if I can get them flights that are not through the roof!

Ok - so which day of the week are you headed in this direction, as that does make a difference in where to suggest you go. Are you flying into Hartford or Boston? Worcester is right in the middle of the state. If your trip ends in Boston, and on a weekend - the city has so much to offer: sports, museums, restaurants, Fanueil Hall, the NE Aquarium, Duck Boat tour etc... Head to western MA and we have the Basketball Hall of Fame, Yankee Candle Co, Old Sturbridge Village (a replica of a colonial village).
As I said, there is so much to see and do here, the sky is the limit!! Determining when you'll have time to sightsee makes a world of difference. Welcome to our wonderful corner of the US.

Ooh, I'm halfway between Boston and Worcester!

In Worcester go to Via, The Sole Proprietor, or 111 Chophouse. Excellent food. Not sure of their vegan choices though! (They are all owned by the same company).

In Boston, Faneiul Hall Marketplace is great. Lots of shopping, food, etc. It's near the aquarium - you can see the harbor seals outside for free.

When is your trip?

The biggest Casino in the world ....Foxwoods...is about an hour drive.

Boston has lots of Broadway Shows...Duck Tours...Fenway Park Tours...Paul Revere House..Old North Church..North End...USS Constitution...Freedom Trail...Trinity Church.

So much to do...Salem is 15 minutes from Boston if you are interested in the Witch Trials.

Must sees... Faneil Hall, Science and Art Museums, Aquarium is really fun. Depending on the weather, a stroll through the garden to see the duck statues and Frog Pond(if it is open). If time permits and the weather is nice, thee walking tour hits alot of the highlights.

If you let me know the dates, I may be able to meet up with you and tour some of the sights.

If you have DS I would highly recommend the Children's Museum, both my kiddos loved it!

There is a place right outside of WPI on the main street (cant think of the name) It is called The Boyton, main;y a college bar but also a resteraunt and they sever the best wings. Monday night used to be 10 cent wings...then the raised it to .15 but I havent been in about 6-8 years so not sure of the price but wow I still crave those wings...

I would also check out some of the entertainment at WPI or the other college. The theatre program at WPI is amazing and they put on some amazing shows and tix are like $5 or $10...

I knew you ladies would set me up with the best advice! The trip would be at the end of April and I would be in town for a Thursday-Wednesday.

We are big on museums, so at least one would be a must do. I also would like to get DS's picture taken with the duck statue at the park.

Good memory on the vegan! Though I am just veggie...and I fall off the wagon and eat meat if the mood strikes. (I can't turn down everything!)

I am looking at flights. So far I have found a flight into Boston and a flight into Providence.

Several of us live within 45 minutes from Worcester. Let us know if you want to meet up. :)

In Boston the No Name Restaurant and The Union Oyster House are good.

End of April the weather should be warm enough to enjoy the outdoor activities. Swan Boats are due to open April 14. It is inexpensive and a cute ride.

Not too much I can add from what was already said, but there is a great restaurant a couple of blocks from the common called Fire & Ice. It's not "entirely" local as there are a few of them scattered in California and Rhode Island as well, but it's definitely one of my favorite places to eat.

The Children's Museum down near the harbor is great. The Milk Bottle (if it's open) is a fun place to eat.

In Worcester there is the Ecotarium, click me. We've never been, but hear it is fun.

Boston Common will be beautiful at the end of April.

You can also go to the Granary Burying Ground on the Freedom Trail. Third oldest burying ground in the City of Boston.

Downtown Crossing has loads of stores, but they are mostly chain shops. I prefer Faneuil Hall, myself. (I used to work there, right above Victoria's Secret ;) ).

Ah, my old stompin' grounds!

I am getting more and more excited for this trip. I hope it works out. I would love to meet up with some of you for dinner while I am out there. If I had a way to bring them, I would bring some of my famous cupcakes since I am always here talking about them and have not found a way to pass them though the computer. :lmao:

Is it the 26th? That's the weekend of CKC in Manchester, which isn't all that far. DH and I are going to a concert on the 27th, so I wouldn't be able to make it on the 28th, but possibly something on the 29th. If it's the previous weekend, I'm free ;)

The weekend of the 28th is when we move DS back home from college. Driving up to Vermont Friday evening, pack him up and they are driving back Saturday while I make a detour to CKC in Manchester. I am available the 29th.

Well girls, the trip has been cancelled. Flights were just too expensive. This was really a last minute thing though. Hopefully I can get out there in the next year and spend a little more time. :goodvibes

Sorry the trip was cancelled. Flights are so expensive right now makes me cringe to look at the prices.

Darn! Hopefully next year. :)
