to the 'Happiest Place on Earth" My hubby and I are currently looking to book a fall vacation and as we have done in the past years we have gone to DL well this time we are looking at arriving October 27 and returning Nov 4.

How will the crowds be???

My quote from my travel agent is like this:

Accomodation 7 nights at HOJO( any reviews??)
Flights: Can't decide whether to fly into LAX or OC??
Entertainment so far: 3 day park pass, we figure we will just plan when we arrive or just before
and a car rental

looks like the cost will be about $ 2100CAD fr 7nights 8 days??

am I missing anything??

Wow, that seems like a great price for those items!

Other than any entertainment you add on later, all I can think of to figure in is food. :)

BTW, I've heard only good things about Hojos. I'll be able to add something to those things after I get back from my trip in early August, since I'm staying there then. :yay:

First off, your dates make it 8 nights. I priced it all for you separately with those dates, and got the following:

HOJO's (on website) One King room for 8 nights= 905.05
3-day Hoppers (on www.arestravel.com) @155 each =310.00
Rental car (on carrentals.com from John Wayne Airport) = 170.28

Grand Total (tax included) $1385.33

That doesn't include airfare, so I don't know how different this is from your travel agent's figures. It also doesn't account for any codes or special deals you might be able to find on your own. HOJO's does run those through several other Disney sites (check with Mousesavers.com for one) and car rental codes can often be found to reduce your car rental price. I usually do hotwire.com for that--I've found it's the cheapest and you deal with reputable companies.

Park passes can be gotten at discounts (arestravel where I quoted from is one place; we get ours through my husband's work for cheap.)

I'd recommend flying into OC if you can find a good deal. The hassle factor is a whole lot easier. Crowds might be higher around Halloween, particularly at night with Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween. I hope this helps!

That sounds like a good price. ter-moo, chellebelle price was in Canadian dollars so that make a little difference. And flying out of Calgary can be expensive as well if you don't get a seat sale. We are flying out of Calgary into LAX next Wed and we got lucky and got a direct flight for $112/ea one way. chellebelle I would price out on expedia and on your own through Air Canada. But have a wonderful trip. The HoJo is great we stayed there the first time and haven't been able to get back in since because it is alway full.

We are going sept 15th-25th...your price sounds good...i think we got a great deal too, through our travel agent our airfare and 10 nights a the HOJO for 5 of us was 2550 canadian...i thought we got really lucky on that..i got all my disney tickets free with my airmiles, so i just need food and spending money now....

This is OT but the other night i punched in our family of 5 flying to orland to DW, we had to fly out of seattle, but the price i got was crazy low, it was 1215 canadian for all 5 of us...i thought that was really good...

Have a great trip..

YEah, I thought of that after I posted! Sorry--forgot about the Canadian dollars! My amounts end up being $1452 in Canadian dollars.

Still Termoos deal is great if they can find airfare for less than $600. If they bought the tickets through the gaydays site, it would be even cheaper yet.

K so this is my quote:

Alaska aire flights to OC: $358.07 pp
7night HOJOs: $720.00
Car for the trip $549.00

$1900.00
and I think we are going to book our hopper passes through airmiles

we are thinking now of maybe breaking our trip up and maybe staying in Anaheim for a total of 6 nights and driving to San Diego and staying there for a couple nights.

These are all in Canadian funds.

That's REALLY expensive for a car for the week, unless you are doing a luxury vehicle or something!! The quote above was way less and was for one extra day!! Plus, if you did it through priceline where you bid for a car at your destination, you can probably cut your price in half!! I just did that for my June trip!

Cool, keep us posted!! Hope you get a great rate!!
