but I honestly don't know the answer.

We are headed to Disney in October for our first trip. We are staying offsite. Are we still able to use the transportation in Disney? Or do you have to stay at a Disney resort to use the monorails and such? :confused3

Yes you may use the transportation. Once you arrive on Disney property, Disney transportation will take you wherever you need to go (amost quoting from a Disney brochure).

You may joyride on the monorails too. Preferably in the middle of the day when things are not crowded.

You can still use the monorails. It is the only way to get into MK.
Have Fun!

If your offsite you willl park in the parking lot at MK and have to use either the ferry boat or a monorail to get to the front of MK. You can use the monorail to go to any of the resorts it goes to. You could also use a monorail to go to EPCOT from the TTC(parking lot at MK)
TTC means Transportaion and ticket center.

MGM and AK you will park in the lot and take a small tram to the enterance.
From MGM you can take the boat that stops at the Boardwalk and Beach Club areas and goes to the International Gateway to EPCOT. They do not check id's for any of these.
So yes you can and will have to use some of them to get to where your going.

well there are three anwsers within minutes of each other....

Thank you guys for helping me out. The place where we are staying has free transportation to Disney. I don't know if that means just to MK or to the other parks also. So if it's just to MK we would need to drive on our Animal Kingdom and MGM days then.

No, you don't. If your offiste resort bus drops you off at MK (actually it will drop you off at the TTC), you can:

take a monorail to MK
take a monorail to Epcot
take a bus to AK
take a bus to MGM

Most of the offsite resorts have very limited shuttle bus schedules. You might consider paying for parking and driving. You only have to pay once per day. If you drive to another park just show your parking pass from the first park.
