Midway

Our flight arrives late at Midway and then we have a 2.5 hour drive, we were thinking about staying at a local hotel but they all seem expensive...to where it would have been cheaper to stay another day at Disney.

We are heading toward Madison,WI what hotels/cities are on the outskirts that we can look at? We might even look at stopping at IKEA on the way home, but it looks like that is about 1 hour from Midway. I'm not sure we want to drive all that way but we might....

Have you thought about a park-n-fly over at the big hotel area near 65th and Cicero? You'll have to pay for parking anyway, so why not get it included in your hotel rate?

You can also call the hotels and find out if they have any park and fly rates.

There are a LOT of hotels in the Oak Brook, IL / Downer's Grove area which is about half way between Midway and Schaumburg if a park and fly doesn't work out.

We already paid for a park and fly without a hotel. I just had sticker shock at the prices in that area for hotels. I'll look at Oak Brook and Downer's Grove.

Yeah, those hotels are always expensive and a lot of them charge extra for parking too! I've been able to get cheaper hotels on Priceline and Hotwire. if you need more than one bed, it's best to go with Hotwire. Here is a website to help you determine which hotel is being offered:

FYI, there's no apostrophe in Downers. (According to Wikipedia, it's a minor historical mystery as to why.)
