Anyone with experience using this hotel group & parking, Please Help!

How does the trolley work? On time? Lots of wasted time? How Early does trolley start? When you returned did it take a while to get back to midinns & your car?

Which hotel did you use? What did you think?

Any problems with your car, upon pick up?

Thanks, plan to use this service instead of VERY VERY early am Limo! Thought might work out ok?

Thanks, MKY:)

We just returned from using Park/Stay/Fly package at the Fairfield Inn. The rate we got over the internet for the room was $119. The price for parking the car was $7/day or (what we paid) $70 for 14 days. Total of $189. If we had used airport parking, it would of cost $117.

The Fairfield was the standard Fairfield. They had an indoor pool and exercise room which we used. There is a TGIF right across the parking lot. We were able to park our car right in front of the hotel under a light. The car was fine when we picked it up.

The shuttle service was excellent! It runs 24 hours. We went down to the lobby at 5 am, my husband told them we were ready to go, we ate a light breakfast, and at 5:15 the shuttle was there. BTW these are very nice, very new shuttles with very friendly drivers.

The shuttle stopped at the other hotels in the area but we were at the airport within 10 minutes. We were dropped off in front of our airlines curb side check in. This was very convenient because we had a daughter with a broken leg. The airlines had a wheel chair waiting there for her.

This is definitely the way to go. We were very happy with our choice. I wish the hotel rates were a little less though.

Thanks for your report, a couple more questions please? How is the shuttle to get on and off with your suitcases? Big doors? tight? & How did you get to park in front, I thought all parking for trips was in the back? Did they tell you to park there or did you just leave it there? Thanks so much for the help! MKY:)

The shuttle had a back door where the driver put some suitcases. It also had a rack inside for even more luggage. The doors were extra wide (not your typical bus door) . The driver was extremely helpful and helped unload and load lugguge.

As far as where we parked our car, the hotel clerk told us to park anywhere in the lot. We had a piece of paper to put on our dashboard that indicated our departure and arrival dates.

I was under the impression that the parking was a fenced off area away from the hotels. This was not the case.

Also, it does not matter which hotel you stay. The same shuttle stops at the Holiday Inn, Sleep Inn, Fairfield, and Mariott.

We are definately going to use this! We have a ressie for our summer trip! If all goes well, planning on doing this in future to. We have a ressie at the holiday inn. MKY;)

Do any of the hotels offer parking without having to stay overnight? We leave in the afternoon so it would be pointless to get a room, but I'd love to leave my car there rather than in one of Midway's lots.

When we went up to check it out, we stopped at all of them, and talked with the desk, was told, no you have to stay at least 1 nite. From here it is about the same for a limo price to & from midway, so it will be worth it. Plus I won't have to get up at 2 am for a 3:30am limo pick up.

Now if you made an offer with the desk, agree to pay a higher fee? Maybe they would if they are not too full? Worth a call to the manager.

Gosh I really hope this works out. I hate being at the mercy of hoping our ride comes, let alone on time. Limo service from here is terrible and I've tried most, not to mention expensive.

Good luck, MKY:)

mkymouse4ever,
My sympathy is with you!!! We are in the same boat (pun intended, since we fly from Chicago to MCO so often for Disney cruises). We used to take a limo but had three experiences from hell and finally started driving. ORD is fine because we get great rates at the Avistar offsite lot via www.airportparkinglots.com
Midway is another story...when driving, even when you call their information line or listen to their AM station, they rarely give the correct parking info. and there are no idependent offsite lots. We are flying out next Thurs. and I'm sure it will be a joke because it's a holiday weekend. It's an afternoon flight, so an overnight hotel stay won't help us. I hope everything works out for you...be sure to post how it goes!

Thanks & I will post, finally got under 1 month! can't wait!
Maybe we should get togther and buy some land near midway & open a parking lot! Sounds like a good business strategy! ;) mky

Last night we went over to midinns to check it out in person again, and they have opened the "new holiday inn select"! It is in the parking lot behind the holiday inn! Now there is a lot more lighting & people around, lot looks safer & once again the security guy was driving around!

:) MKY
