Well, our flights were changed again. We're flying into Midway from Milwaukee on ATA in a couple of weeks. Is 30 minutes enough for us and our luggage to make the next flight? As it is, we're going to have to leave home around 3:00 am to get to Milwaukee on that Sunday morning so we're actually considering driving through Milwaukee the day before, getting a hotel closer to Midway and then flying out of there instead. Anyone know if there would be a penalty for catching the flight in Chicago instead of Milwaukee...would we loose our seats if we don't check in at Milwaukee like we're originally supposeto?

Midway is pretty small. Thirty minutes is not much time, though. Why don't you call ATA and discuss this situation with them? Could be that no airline wants to risk alienating a customer right now. At any rate, thirty minutes should be enough time provided everything goes according to plan.

DON"T DO IT!!!!! There was another thread similar to this last week. If you DO NOT show up for the Milwaukee- Midway leg, ALL your reservations are cancelled!! This is going and coming! If you do show up at Midway, you will probably have to pay large penalties, and then you would be standby for the rest of the trip! I know it is odd, but sometimes it is cheaper to go on 2 flights, rather then one. But, please don't do it! Midway is a small airport. 30 minutes is enough time to transfer your luggage, and yourself at Midway. At O'Hare, the minimum connection time within the same airline is 25 minutes, and Midway is a lot smaller. You will have no problem!!

OK Then...! I think we're sticking to our original plan of flying out of Milwaukee like we're supposeto! I'm still very nervous about flying {although the girls and hubby aren't having second thoughts} and when I saw our new itinerary was only giving us a 30 minute layover, compared to the original 3 HOUR layover that we were supposeto have, I guess I kinda freaked! This is one year where I really want everything to work out, we really need this vacation! Thanks so much you guys for the replys!
