My wife, 10 year old daughter and I will arrive at midnight on a Thursday evening. We will be staying in Disney for a total of 9 nights. 3 nights at WL followed by 6 nights at OKW.
What park should try to tackle on that first Friday?
Maybe consider having a backup plan. We thought our plane was getting in at 10:30 pm, but due to bad weather, we were delayed and ended up getting in around 2 am. By the time we were in our room and ready for bed, it was 4 am. Certainly hadn't banked on THAT! It meant we lost a day, essentially. Just something to consider... (but I hope you have much better luck than we did!)

We actually had a trip where we arrived at our hotel at 2am. It was originally supposed to be 9pm. Didn't matter much to us as we were staying at an offsite hotel and checking in a Disney hotel the next day. We slept reasonably late (noon checkout), had bfast, then packed dry clothes in a beach bag and hung out by the pool for a few hours. Nice and relaxing and the perfect recharge. Our children were 4 & 6 at the time.
With the beautiful pool at WL, definitely plan some time to unwind. With the MK in such close proximity, you can visit that park from late afternoon through evening. Depending on your ticket media (if it allows park hopping), you can always leave MK if you feel it's too crowded and take the monorail to Epcot. Future World in Epcot is sometimes nice to do in the afternoon as most of the crowds have already moved on to World Showcase.
I would definitely consider taking the morning off and either plan on a pool day or go to a park in the afternoon/evening. When we flew down in Oct we had a flight that arrived at 11:00 and by the time we got our luggage, rental car, drove to our timeshare and got checked in it was almost 1:00 in the morning, about 2:00 before we got settled in and into bed. It seemed to take most of the day just to recover from that late night flight (we went to Tyhpoon Lagoon the next day which worked well we thought compared to going to a theme park).
If you have park hoppers, and are exhausted, maybe sleep in, swim in the earlier part of the day, have a great dinner, and then choose a park for their end of the day parade/show (wishes, illuminations, or fantasmic) Thats what I may do
Thanks for the advice. I am trying to plan the day in order to make appropriate dinner plans. Do you think this would be a good night for Hoop Dee Doo Review?
