Middle School Parent's Anonymous

It has nothing to do with "middle school" and everything to do with age. It doesn't make a difference if the kids are K-6, 7-9 or K-5, 6-8, etc. It is TOTALLY the age of the kids. It is mainly hormonal, especially for girls. Educationally the learning styles of 6-8th graders are much more consistent so it makes sense to have a "middle school".

Thanks for all the words of encouragement!

DD had an easier time of dealing with the "friends" today. She said she just ignored them and it wasn't too bad.

I am earnestly praying every day for her to find a really great friend. She has friends, but I am praying for that really best girlfriend.......you know, the one that you can tell everything to. She doesn't really have that yet.

I'm hoping for this for DD, too. She has made a few new acquaintances at school, but no real buddies so far.

A good sign, though, maybe: I asked DD if she was at all interested in homeschooling. Her answer? "No, way, Mom. I like school!" :confused3 Could've fooled me this morning! But I'm truly glad to hear that she still likes school!

:grouphug: :grouphug: Hugs to all us moms who are dealing with our babies growing up and hitting puberty!

Just tell me how to help my kid make his classes and not miss the bus! He doesn't seem to have enough time in between classes and after school to go to the restroom, ask questions, get to his locker and still make it. I hate to tell him not to ask the questions, and he needs the restroom then as they tell them 3 excuses to leave class for the restroom gives them a detention.

And, exactly when is he supposed to, you know, number 2?

The middle school years are  . My oldest is in his first year of high school and things are going well. In fact, I'd say that he looks excited about going to school in the mornings! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 When I asked him what he likes about it and he said that there's more "freedom of choice" (exact words) :teeth: and kids are more mature. :thumbsup2

I have two more kids that have to go through middle school. My middle child will be there next year and DD has 3 more years to go. Yes, I'm already looking forward to it! :sad2: :sad2:
