I know I'm in the minority, but I have problems with drinking at lunch. And besides, do you really have to drink to enjoy your disney vacation?

*sigh* :headache: Somebody always seems to have a problem with something. :confused3

NOoooo. I do not HAVE to drink to enjoy by Disney vacation for goodness sake.
But I AM ON VACATION..soooo if I choose to have a deliciously icy Margarita in Mexcio, or a nice Bass Ale from Rose & Crown while we walk around World Showcase (yes, during lunch hours!:scared1: ), it adds a wonderfully magical, out-of-the ordinary experience to my vacation!
Then again, I am traveling with a 5 & 6 year old so it does sort of help...especially on that Figment ride...:rolleyes1.

If Disney had a problem with people drinking while vacationing at their resort, they wouldn't sell alcohol in three of their four theme parks, their water parks (which actually strikes me as somewhat dangerous), or their super-mega-shopping complex. And they wouldn't host a 6-week festival dedicated to the never-ending joy that is food and wine.

And to answer your question, yes ... my husband and I do drink to enjoy any vacation and we typically make a mouse pilgrimage once a year. We rarely are even able to have meals together in the "real" world because of our work schedules. It's a treat to sit down together and enjoy a nice lunch at Chefs de France while savoring a glass of wine. It's a treat to relax by the resort pool together sipping on the latest weakened frozen drink concoction that Disney overcharges us for. It's a treat to order a Mimosa or a Bloody Mary with breakfast.

Different strokes for different folks. I don't have a problem with people drinking at Disney as long as they are responsible and respectful. And most people are ... even during the F&W Festival.

If Disney had a problem, they wouldn't allow it to be served early. If you don't want to see alcohol being consumed, stay in the Magic Kingdom.

I say DRINK IT UP! Its vacation. If you want to have a mimosa for breakfast, go for it. If you want a beer/wine at lunch go for it. I personally go for the Margaritas at 11am when the World Showcase opens.

CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG...LOL im just kidding, but yea drink some...especially being in EPCOT you have to "Drink Around the World" its fun, and it wont slow you down...enjoy your vacation you can always goo back..ENJOY!

drink...eat...drink...eat

just pace yourself and you'll be fine :o)

I couldn't think of a better place to drink and eat other than World Showcase either!

Drinks around the world seemed to pose a problem with me....but that's only after we made it around the world and wanted more!!!! And for that my friends, you have to start at lunch time!:rotfl:

Seriously though, a drink at lunch-on VACATION....no big deal!

I look forward to the great meals and great drinks. Why wait until 5pm. It is vacation time.....enjoy the moment ....breakfast, lunch and supper...I can not wait for some cold Sunkin Treasures at pool side.

My only regret is that the World Showcase doesn't open till 11:00am....what am I going to do between 8am and 11am????

And why didn't the Canadian Beer Cart and the wine/slushie kiosk in France not open until noon? Personally, my drinking around the world would go alot smoother if I'm fitting in 11 countries in 10 hours, not 11 in 9 hours.

On another note, enjoying a drink actually does help in my enjoyment of World Showcase, the Harambe Village...and just about any other place. It encourages us to slow down and enjoy what's around. Some people get sluggish, I just get a wonderful easy feeling that says 'hey, don't rush, enjoy your time'.

Honestly, when we go 'drinking around the world' I don't get much of a buzz, but I do get alot of enjoyment because I'm spending an entire day in the world showcase, seeing all it has to happen.

My new favorite thing to do in Animal Kingdom is to get a drink at the Dawa Bar and watch the shows while ignoring the loud voices of people complaining that they can't eat Tusker House.

...in Disneyland's California Adventure, the best part of the trip is doing the wine tasting and talking to the CM's there.

OMG...I love the spicy bloody mary at the Dawa bar...and the entertainers are wonderful. Last Oct. we took my 80 yr old parents to the Dawa Bar for a beer and they loved it. :thumbsup2

There's nothing better in this world than drunk senior citizens popcorn::

I'll probably have a screwdriver on the plane :o)

And when we get in, we're heading over to the GF Cafe for breakfast, and I heard they make this awesome concoction called a Florida Sunrise....my name is ALL over that baby!!

It's my vacation, I'm going to have fun!!

The GF Cafe also has a really yummy Mimosa. It had a huge strawberry on the glass. Yum! Have fun!

OP - enjoy your beverage with lunch, you're on vacation.:drinking1

Since we are on the topic and all....:rotfl: the DH "Eric Stratton" is curious if Morocco has any alcoholic beverages, Moroccan culture/religion led us to think no...but we could be wrong. He already enjoys his yard of Food every year (ie: Guinness) and being a fourth German/half Danish he knows what to get in those Countries...Morocco utterly confuses him. ;)

I'm reading about drinking in the World while I'm enjoying a homemade margarita :lmao: There is nothing better!;)

Going to WDW with my DSis for the first time in forever and our offical line is "so the children can enjoy it together" - what we really mean is so we can gently place the kidlets with the grandparents and drink and eat our way around the world!:thumbsup2

And I have to say my DH is not a disney lover (lucky for him he's so darn cute! ) and it took 2 glasses of wine in Germany to knock the grumpy out of him! So it's fun and functional!

Enjoy, and don't feel guilty! It's VACATION!!!!!

God made wonderful, delicious grapes and other fabulous ingredients such as hops and barley...let us enjoy responsibly!!! As other posters have said, you can imbibe with fun and care, but not have to worry about driving...enjoy your surroundings, take it all in and sample some new flavors!

I haven't truly done the "drink around the world," but I didn't plan it well before...not enough time in one day...another activity too soon in the day; this time I'm planning it & I can't wait! I think it will truly make us slow down to enjoy each of the countries a little more.

Have fun!!!!!!!

Susan

I don't drink at all, but the drinks in Mexico at Epcot look good.

I believe they have a beer called Casablanca. Here's a link to reviews of it:

After that, I have NO idea.....

Guinness - wow, that's like drinking motor oil!!! However, an Irish Car Bomb is nice every now and again....
