Hi...just wondering what crowds are like in the middle of May? Thanks

We will be there at that time as well for a short trip. Mid-May is considered off-season and will likely have lower crowds on weekdays and, like weekends all year, higher crowds on weekends.

In case you are a newbie to DLR, off-season has pros and cons. Here are some links FWIW:

Thanks so much for the info....I noticed last year Splash Mountain was closed for some of May....do you know what are the chances of this happening again this May?

We'll be at DL the 1st week of May (3-9). I added on Fri night at the last minute to ensure we'd get fireworks at least one night. Does Sunday night usually count as a weekend or weekday night? Am I correct in thinking they'll probably have Fireworks and possibly Fantasmic Sun night and then again on Fri? They've only been posting the Calendar 2mo in advance lately, so I probably won't see a firm ent schedule until April...

They usually consider Sunday a weekend so yes, you should get all the entertainment on Sunday as well as on Friday and Saturday.

If you found that in my linked thread then you did not check the dates carefully enough. :) Splash was down from late January until mid-May for a major refurb in 2007, not 2008. That is not likely to happen this year. Will something be down for refurb in May of 2009? Probably, because that is what happens in off-season. The good thing about May and early June is that the major refurbs (like Splash in 2007) tend to start in January and get finished before summer crowds show up (mid-June) - and that usually means it is done by May. What you are more likely to see this year are minor rides down for a few days. That is just luck of the draw. As I note in my posts, if that bothers anyone they should visit during summer or some other peak time.
