Middle of May a good time to go?

Hi,

Starting to plan out my next trip for 2006 and was thinking of going in the middle to late of May. I've only ever been in late June and July. How are the parks during this time? Are the parks open late? What about grad nights, etc.? I was thinking May 20-May 29. Any thoughts on going earlier than my usual summer trips? Pros?....cons?

FYI: i'm used to the heat! I'm from Texas!

The 28 & 29 May will be very busy as it's Memorial Day weekend. Earlier in the week maybe not as busy. However seeing as you have been in June/July time, you are probably going to be used to crowds. The hours are already up on Disney's official site for May. A few late nights there. I think there is a post for the hours somewhere in this forum too.

Oh! I didn't even think about Memorial Day! Thanks for reminding me Reggie! Does anyone know if the crowds are as bad as summer crowds or 4th of July crowds?

We are normally there over Memorial Day weekend and the week after and I don't think crowds are that bad. Every week you wait, the crowds get worse until late August when lots of schools are back in session. Last year, we had no rain, but the temps were HOT!

We have always gone in the summer but chose May for our honeymoon in 2004-it was a wonderful time of year to be in WDW!!!

I think you can go about anytime you want and have a great time.

We are going in May 2006 ! We will be there May 7-15 (then heading down to the Keys for a few days). I have read a lot of comments on how nice it is in May - great weather, pretty low crowds, etc. This will be our 1st time (ever)!

We were there for Memorial Day weekend last year, and it was great (a little crowded, but not as bad as I expected). I just paid my deposit for May 20 - 23, 2005 this morning, and I can't wait!
